Does anyone have an opinion on pole hose please

For those who use just pole hose, do you ever go across the road with it? I've only just changed my hose had minibore for 7 yrs and had cars and lorries drive over it almost every day, I'm only changing it now because I've just got a hd reel.

Mark thanks for your input I had the reinforced on my poles but now the blue exceed as changed to univalve and for test purpose I wrapped the reinforced hose around the trolley handle seems good flexible and stayed in place do you think the green pu hose would sit snug around handle or hang loose?
The green pu will sit nice round the handles

The added bonus is it is so ligjt you won't even know it's there

Cheers Daveyboy, so much choice, another question because I use and want to carry on using the rectus 21 fittings I would need the female end stop by can only find the 6mm where the pole hose is 5mm will the 6mm fit in the pole hose if soaked in hot water?

Heat it for a whole minute in boiling water and it will push on

It needs to be well heated

Sorry didn't get back sooner with these pics, been helping my daughter and son in law move out today.

Managing PU hose takes a bit of mastering but when you've got it you won't forget it. Bit like riding a bike.

This is 25mtrs coiled in the hand. Much easier to carry than the reinforced hose. In fact you can carry the hose and pole in the same hand without too much problem if you wish. (Think I may have posted these before, but hey ho)

This is how i carry it, though it's looped a bit bigger here. Sometime I use the same hook but hang it round the front of the barrel instead of at the back

I don't as a rule lay it over roads. Due to it's light nature I feel it could be picked up a lot easier than the heavier hose by a passing car.

I defo don't need it to lay across roads purely back alleys that are very narrow, also houseboats that I can't get access with my van mount, thanks you for the photos is that a tie wrap or some sort of strap to keep your hose in place.

Yeah, I use black releasable tiewraps. Think they're 8mm x 300mm if memory serves. I've found black ones are best as the neutral coloured ones go brittle and snap quite quickly when exposed to extreme cold. I purchased them on eBay. I just loop them round the trolley handle when not in use.

Go to screwfix or somewhere and get the velcro straps for tidying cables

About 6 inches long and all velcro so just wrap round

Or small wrap-it straps from b&q or homebase for a couple of quid

It says on Gardiner Website that this hose is unsuitable for Reels why is that?

Because the nature of the hose it will kink and make a mess trying to put lots on a reel which is why it is pole hose not reel hose

Putting 20m on a reel is no issue but i wouldn't want 100m of it
