After 4 month I can take it easy for the first time in 20 years

Maybe I am doing it wrong but for the first time in 20 years I am taking a break and I can afford it.

2 weeks holidays over Christmas/NewYear period and only back and was texting customers on sunday to get they windows cleaned and only one of 80 that is due this week texted me back that I can go ahead the others want me to leave it until next month. Reason - no money.

And for that reason I know I am doing something right here because I still have money even if I only worked for myself only 4 month and most of the income went to buy equipment (over 4K spent in the last 4 month) and I started with 0.0 on my account.

So I went out and did some canvassing yesterday and will do some today. Working on advertisement and putting my website together.

I probably should be feeling unfortunate but I am not. Worked hard all my life for others so I deserve a break. I see my first 4 month as a warm up anyway. Learned a lot. Made few mistakes and I am still learning.

But I know I am in the right business!

I would be pooing myself.

I know you work differently to most of us.

The main reason why I want to build up the windows this year is to have a more Consistent somewhat guaranteed (I know it's not 100% guaranteed ) income to be cable to rely on.

It drives me nuts waiting for the phone to ring but I'm quite an anxious person

It wouldnt change anything if I would be mad now.

I was kinda prepared for quiet January as I know that every business in Ireland (just down south, Peter!) is brought to a standstill after NewYear. So hibernation for a few weeks it is.

Strange thing here is that 99% of my customers want to be in when I am cleaning.

unless you tell them they don't need to be in there not gonna know any different...I've had a few like that, thought had to be in...not 99 % off my round though lol..

trouble you have is letting them get away with it once, what's too stop them most months looking at there windows thinking ah there still pretty clean...your tex comes in...sorry mate can you leave it this month....your trying to build a bussiness and need to know we're you stand income wise month to month, not wondering will i get this much £+++ today/week/month or your full rounds quota....know which I'd prefer.

Usually I am texting all my customers on Sundays saying that I will call in next week to do the windows and I am asking them to give me a day that suits them best as here people want to be in when I am around cleaning windows. After that we agree on time and I put them on my booking list. Complicated but that is the way it works here...
