As is always the trend with me I bottled it again yesterday and told the boys to work Fri/Sat and have today off as convinced myself it would be the worst weather and didn't want to lose any jobs by getting turned away... (we work in the rain but if its like what I thought it was going to be like all day then I don't like to) Woke up this morning to a lovely fresh day!!! Every time I say I'll never do it again, every time... I do it again!! FML... I'll never do that again!! lol

Sometimes You have to make a judgement call didn't go myself sometimes I have to send a lot of notifications out for access so don't want to tell people I'm coming and then not turn up.

On any texts I send I always start with 'weather permitting' tends to help get round that

Just tell them to be flexible, you're their employer at the end of the day.

Ask them to be ready for tomorrow at a set time. If it's gash bags theb they can make plans for a day off.

Also let them know to be prepared to pencil in the weekend dates in case it did rain too hard

I hear you... reason I stopped putting weather permitting is because I didn't want to get in their minds that we don't work when it rains... and yesterday I should of put that really, weather looked so bad though been kicking myself all day lol... I do specific week schedules too... so if we miss them this week won't see them till next month... we don't miss though lol

My custys have been trained to expect me if it's wet, but there is a point where I can't work. I explain it all before 1st clean. No problems yet.

Yeah mine have too mate... My point is more about giving staff off when they could of been working... that's the most frustrating bit for me as got loads more work scheduled this week, customers r pretty easy and if like u said your straight from the start they know the plan (I took it out of my text as didn't want them dwelling on it) i try to keep there choices as minimal as possible lol

Did you go out on your own today then?

No I didn't, I hadn't text so couldn't... (I've trained my customers so well that they are all used to text and never cancel... never is a big shout, mostly never lol..on the flip side that and the fact a lot have got gates you can't just rock up of a morning out the blue) I prefer this way overall though..... Current situation is an inch of settled snow outside!! Stinker!! I'm now hoping it sorts itself tomorrow then do Sat maybe Sun... bad times!! Window cleaning nightmare... wish I had commercial booked, that's no prob in the snow!!

Send normal message out to customers for today, added weather permitting i.e.: Snow or High Winds. Simple, half them will be praying for heavy snow so they can stay at home lol.

Haha yeah I bet.. it's horrible out there! Ice and hard snow.... if ever there was an excuse... might save the vans from certain death by crash and call today off anyway, it's a heavy payload when u have to slam the anchors on!! Let's pray for rain then sun so we're back in the game tomorrow [emoji1317]

Whats the issue with snow I prefer the snow over rain and can easily get round without issue , Do all your customers have gated and locked properties .

To start I'm a southerner... deffo don't prefer the snow lol, and chances r I ain't going out anyway so that's not the bother. It turned to ice here and I got 650L tanks so stopping wouldn't be the easiest... not all customers are locked and gated but most are, jumping over is not an issue but I don't wanna screw up the formula that works for me... and that's texting... wanna be able to run the company from anywhere one day and just rocking up ain't gonna make that happen.. I'm trying to train them for the future!

Fair play mate but as you well know this job is dictated by the weather so not always plannable as it changes, Today was almost a right off for me according to the forecast and I got over 5 hrs in.

Never had bits of anxiety... had it twice in past 6 months... it's definitely not all sunshine and rainbows this game! Looking good to catch up over weekend so fingers crossed!! 5 hrs today would of relaxed things nicely... impressive [emoji1305]
