Chris you will be amazed with how much time you will save. Also no ladders always working safely..What your TDS reading are you going to be using RO.Your right about the forum loads of gd guys here willing to help, does make all the difference. .When you change WFP are you going to cleaning the windows twice , thats what I do for first cleans takes longer but worth it

@Duncs defo will clean all frames and then back to first window. Shake brush dry and wipe top frame then do glass was my thinking.

Do days work and come back same way home and do all uppers on way home a second time. Is this over kill?

Your right about the pricing of the residential graft. putting written quote in.

Had to price to big jobs recently, fluk made **** just told the manager verbally £150& £100 jobs silly **** thought my name was on the job.

Unfortunatly never heard nowt bastxard

chris you wont have time for that mate , I would, cleaned all frames windows back off house then do them again gd rinse. Then do front twice, gd rinse.Chris they will be perfect.Keep eye on the windows with double letter boxs, they dont always dry to great.turn water off dry wipe under the seal then rinse inch below the seal. I always check my windows randomly for spotting and generally to check the windows.

see them front doors ,watch for ******* water through them ,had dogging few times

I,ve got couple of houses where I wipe the bottom sils with scrim just to keep things tidy, the old grannies love it

scrim in your belt only takes secs

@Duncs thanks for all that. Aye Ivery some flats with double letter box windows. Was actually thinking about them today as being a potential problem.

What do ya do about wiping water left on the upper window sills?

Wee update on a paid advert campaign in my town.

Paid 26 quid to boost a status off my fb page which basically said 'window cleaning customer spaces available within x town.

All frames and doors cleaned as standard.

Council licenced and liability insured.

Check this business page for 5 star feedback and various imagery.

Varied payment options and varied clean frequency available'

This was put up last night and the paid reach was to be 1.9k people I think. So far I've had 10 enquiries and turned 9 into regular cleans. Prices ain't great but I can do these houses all day long in around 15 mins...small houses.

That's awesome. I'm considering a fb campaign and Adwords too. It'll soon be time to start knocking on doors again with new flyers.

Hoping to pick up more compact local custys this year.

Are u doing ads targeting connys Chris? I know u were considering it a while back. I reckon March onwards and people will want their connys cleaned and all the winter muck off the glass

@PJ Bullard what I'm now doing is boosting a status to an area the week before I am due there and adding work on as pick up on these paid ads.

I will defo do a conny cleans boost but like you say March or even April will suit me for that.

So anyway I think an added way to compact work is to boost a status in areas you work when it's due...then add them on the same day or week.

I'll be working right up until Saturday afternoon to fit these in but needs must

dasslr1 thank you for taking the time on that post and for that insight, and yeah it would be very frustrating to look back and have priced houses so wrong!
Adams0211, thanks mate. Yes I'm going to knock these freebies on the head, and rejig the whole flier as I'm starting to think it screams desperation lol. Without all this input I'd probably be booked for a month and chucked right after it!

Thanks everyone, lots of helpful advice ☺

Was just getting frustrated waiting on my council badge for door chapping purposes, but yeah this flier needs work!

Chris
Nice to look back on your beginnings lol...you've come a long way man

@Panorama window cleaning if you want it enough (which I'm sure you do) you'll get there mate. You've started at a good time of year I think too, tail end of winter sets the tone to build during spring and summer.

Infact you have a month head start of my first year lol

One thing im thinking chris33...i dont yet have a van or a car but i know ill need at least a 4m reach ladder to do the residential in my area. What is the best way to enter the market given my situation? Its a catch 22 because I think it'd be silly to go and buy a van straight away without any confirmed work but then lets say i do start getting work booked in that requires a ladder...i cant exactly walk the ladder around a whole town each day? Part of me says just go and buy the van before leafletting but the other part says that would be irresponsible and impulsive. FfS there i go again over thinking things lol

@Panorama window cleaning some guys do walk their full round. This is really limiting yerself though, you'll feel you need to take work dirt cheap just to keep it grouped in walking distance.

Not good. I say if your heart is in this and you have no car or van right now, get a van. Ensure the resale value is there so you won't lose much if it doesn't work out.

Ladder wise you need a 15 footer or there abouts to cover all 1st storey windows. I use the lyte et series. Check them out..weight of ladders is important too. Do some comparison there.

Don't be like me, get a ladder m8trix from the start. Your ladder positioning will be all over the shop for a good few months as it is, so make sure you stay safe as can be.

Chris33 this is like War & Peace 49 pages , But very inspiring and I have been in business almost 17 years , As yet I haven't read every page but working my way through .

@Iron Giant you'll know plenty more than me then matey lol I ain't even at a year yet.

It's a massive blog and it kept me motivated myself...something nice to look back on too
