Sorry to hear that mate, annoying when jealous people try and knock you

Facebook is not the place to do business in, it's for spotty teenagers and folk with too much time on their hands to talk **** in!!

I do a lot of business from facebook

If done correct it works very well

Unfortunately you do get idiots in this job whether on fb, text, phone or in person

It's just more visible on fb

Just don't get why someone would knock you for charging more than them. I did bite lol but apparently he has full time staff so must be doing something right eh 22 years a window cleaner and charging a fiver.

@HALTON this was on my page the cheeky..

Bit below the belt posting on someones fb page like that.

I tried to find the post @adamangler so i could put him right but can't find it lol

You should tell him that 22 years and still charging a fiver is why nobody can charge decent prices as he is killing it for everyone else local

If he wants to do 20 houses for 100 quid that is his choice but doesn't mean you have to

I deleted the post from my fb business page daveyboy and blocked him. Didn't think it looked good arguing with this cretin on there. Best to let it go lol

It's muppets like that who ruin the trade

He is basically saying it is wrong to charge a reasonable amount to make it worthwhile doing this job rather than stacking shelves somewhere

I have a handfull of 8 quid jobs for various reasons and a couple of fivers for 3 window fronts on my round but apart from that i won't do any job for less than £10

My average for a 3 bed terrace is £11-12 and will take 10 minutes

Average for anything bigger or a semi is £14 upwards

You can't run a business charging fivers

Using Facebook in my opinion just leaves yourself open to problems.

Fair enough Daveyboy, it's just not for me!

That is funny. I had one cancel tonight because she's used to paying no more than 3.50 apparently. Good luck to the 5 quid and 3.50 men

You are so far wrong there Christian. There are 2 or 3 members on here that know a bit about FB advertising. @daveyboy rule the FB free ad recommendtions. I myself advertise some of our other services (I use paid asvertising on there £240 per month) and it pays for itself many times over.

FB used right is a goldmine.

I had some t**t post on my roof cleaning ad saying the pics were bull s*** and claiming my before and afters were actually different houses.

What did I do? Deleted his comment and barred him from my page. There will always be trolls out there @adamangler , just kick em back under their bridge.

Each to their own

Luckily most of my Facebook work is in a nice area and a couple of nice community fb groups

Just need to seperate the wheat from the chaff

And probably signing on also as they can't make ends meet

I find fb a brilliant tool. I only post on free buy and sell groups locally and most days just post a quick add with a few pics of recent work. Get loads of cuties from it and rather than knocking doors I've done it while watching TV. Don't get me wrong I canvass or leaflet any spare minute I get during the day but Fb is great and free

It's all about having several lines in the water

If you can use something extra that may get you work while busy working or leafletting etc then why wouldn't you

The add I had put on had prices on. I usually don't put prices but the reason I did is because on facebook I get asked for a price then never hear owt back. (Not surprising really with guys like this one around)

Terraced from £10

Semis from £12

Detached from £14

Didn't think it was extortionate.

Seems reasonable

The bit that gets me is why did he comment at all unless he wants to make you look bad and any possible custy jumps ship to him

Bang out of order acting like that

@chris clean 'get loads of cuties from it' lol!

Fb is great to use. There is a few here who use it badly though. Ie terrible spelling,no pics, no link to business page. What I mean is; the potential if there if it's done right

It's an amazing place to build reputation fast. But there is this risk of fake reviews like I think @meridion suffered or these hostile comments

As @Green Pro Clean Ltd highlights, paid adverts are the way forward if they are targeting the right area, clientele and your spending enough. 4 quid daily adverts won't get much other than maybe the odd window cleaning job. Paid adverts are defo the way dogs jangles for add ons.

Haha terrible spelling

There is one on the groups i go on who can't spell or make sense and has a pic of his business card as his profile pic which is spelled badly and doesn't read right grammatically either

Very bad advert for your services when your job is all about attention to detail and a thorough job isn't it
