GO CARDLESS PAYMENTS

My rolling debt is around 10-15 %

Bad or slow payers eventually get told go cardless or nothing but if they pay in the end I will keep them for now I simply don't clean them if the last clean hasn't been paid for which is rare.

Reading that some of you have large debt lists is shocking for me to read! All my customers get a slip with bacs details and it says 'Please make payment within 5 working days'. If they don't they get a text. If they ignore they get a call. If they mess me about, I drop them. I simply dont have late payers on my round. And I don't go around collecting cash either. I tell them to put it in a tuplewear box in the back garden if they are out and want to pay that way.

Definetly looking into GC though as I expand.

ive just started pushing GC only got 12 atm, but these are sometimes out when collecting so its good, theres some who owe double still saying too busy. ill give them time, not worth loosing customers up here, lots of competition sniffing around. i do too good a service for them to leave me. its usually me who will dump them, glad to get rid of dead wood. always knocking at weekends, no answer. you then have to leave untill you get paid, i wont go more than 2 leans now without payment

The debt mentioned on here for example £500 isn't that high at all as it depends on how many clients you have and the value of the jobs GC helps manage residential debt and keep the money coming in twice a week I get payments from GC , My debt is way over £500 but I do a fair amount of commercial jobs so that bumps it a fair bit .

You are doing well to get that many signed up in a short space of time keep on pushing it , Did you manage to get your website sorted with GoCardless widget .

Roughly 500 customers and £500 debt , all my commercial work pays on the day, of I didn't collect It would be far worse

I used to be a grand a month behind all the time now I've got GC it's down and I sacked loads of who wouldn't sign up sometimes you have to come down to go back up. ..all new customers are straight on GC if not I don't want them

Value of debt doesn't really mean a lot.

£1000 debt could be 500 customers all owe £2 each. That's not good at all. Highly doubtful unless your up/down in [insert town name for abuse]

% is much better compared to turnover.

Yes iron, all to do with adding links, got there . Now to get it on phone App. Lots say they will but say they forgot, i dont mind collecting local to me. 5 minutes away, but when further and they are all out headache.

I just got an email from go cordless saying they where robbed and 2 laptops where stole but all details are safe

Totally agree Damo , I carry a large amount of customer debt compared to some and I have just over 300 customers , But one of my biggest commercial earners is on 60 day payment terms but I sit at home every night after been on the glass all day and watching the money come rolling without barely lifting a finger .

I have a mate/fellow windy who charges less than me and is always chasing debt through evening cash collections makes no sense at all financially not in this day and age .

yes i also got an email from GC about robery ?

I got that email as well , But I contacted them directly via email as I wasn't sure if it was an official email as been getting quite a bit of varied spam I ain't clicking no links I am uncertain of .

i showed the mrs my GC payments page & customer page.

She couldnt believe how Window Cleaning has changed. She always has a laugh comenting when im on the laptop, Are you on that forum again looking at hoses and poles, haha.

We learn a lot on here, People dont think we run a business, Keeping acounts , Bank accounts for payments etc. The only down side is if we get sick and laid up. Working on your own
