I'm posting this because I keep seeing posts on people either doing DIY versions of trolleys or talking about how expensive they are... these are made by water genie, 20L... I got one in each van and one for chems and they work a treat... I think we pay about £80 for them. It's got battery, pump and pressure control....

I have one of these. I do wonder how it would be much cheaper to make your own.

I am wary of using hypo in it though. Are the seals replaceable luca?

TBH I haven't used hypo in it but used tfr and mostly ubik and seems to handle even strong measures of those (granted hypo may very well be much stronger) but deals with those fine... and if they gave up I think it's more than earned it's money by then?! [emoji848]

Sod putting that full of water on my back

Some people use a trolley instead of a van mount for all their work which is when a homemade trolley with decent pump and battery not the :turd: from china that all the backpacks (actually weed sprayers and not designed for long hoses just a short hose and lance) which invariably break is the best option in my opinion

Pure freedom sell them at severely inflated prices compared to what they are worth so why not make one to your own specs and add hose reel to then have the ideal trolley for all day use

Yeah I wouldn't put it on my back either... but it's got wheels and an adjustable handle plus psi is as much as you'd use from van (even though I think it's about 70psi and u prob got 100psi on van) but sprays water a metre and a half or more so enough!

Anyway your probably right if it's all you've got to use, not sure it's durable enough not to break using it all the time... still if your just getting in to wfp with a budget definitely a good option. And if you've got a van set up there brilliant as use it so rarely.

Before i knackered the pump with constant use with hypo and 100m of hose i used a gardiners backpack on a trolley as my system

Now i have diy van mount but if i had to go back to the old way i would chuck a sureflow or flowjet pump on a trolley for reliability..otherwise it would be like using the cheapest parts possible for a van mount and expecting it to not break down

How is this backpack compared to others, the thing that put me off was the battery that came with it, does it last well.

It's absolutely fine... I've got proper van set ups so only use packs when needed but nearly never charge... I'm sure it would last a full day of cleaning at least... don't quote me though!! Seriously there £80.. they've got wheels/trolley and straps to carry on your back... variable speed... 20L capacity and I can't fault them!! If it's your only means of cleaning WFP then it might be worth looking for something more substantial BUT if your just trying or getting into it and don't have much money OR have a van set up and need to have another option for certain places their a no brainier in my view...

So trust me if you've got a van set up their blinding to have as another option when needed, leave in garage and just bring on days when you need... or don't?! But I think there a good extra to have...

They are handy mainly for spraying chems for me but if using all day every day i would make my own setup

Gardiners backpack which is gonna have the same internals as your one easily lasts a whole week used for every house without charging

I know 2 cousins who use 2 backpacks only and a van full of drums and sometimes go nearly 2 weeks without charging..unbelievable

I've tried the homemade trolley and my DIY mount was an absolute nightmare. Was tearing my hair out at times.

Last year bought a Gardiners backpack and folding trolley from Aldi for £15 - haven't looked back! For the price of a pump and battery why not just get a backpack that's all put together?

Ps. I charge mine every 1-2weeks although I've never had it reach empty. The batteries are so reliable and efficient.

I am only using for doing backs as have a van mount.

My previous back back was from extend2wash cheap made but you could open and put in the pump and battery, it lasted for ages I would charge and get a good 5 hours work from but over the corse of 2 sometimes 3 weeks before needing another charge, just worried I would knacker battery on these if I were to do that.

Order yourself one work straight of out the box strapped to cheap alley folding trolley I use mine regularly jobs where you have to go through houses down awkward alleyways even use on houseboats 15 metre reinforced gardiners pole hose wrapped around the bars works a treat.

Used to use a trolley but I can't understand why u need one of these if you have a van system since getting a van mount I have never had any issues on access the only time I've used my trolley again is on school jobs were they had inner quad areas ...the hose is easier to get down a tight areas / award than a trolley or backpack ...there were days when I couldn't get past cars in a drive when I had trolley... backpack maybe good if there is two of you and the backpack man is doing the back of the house ...

Some people don't want hose trawling through their living rooms plus houseboats that I do I have a couple minutes walk due to parking, also Imcleaning a new estate where the rear of Properties are like rabbit warren my backpack gets uses most days, couldnt be with out it, but ultimately my van mount is the best thing since slice bread for 98% or my work.
