Dropping customers

WCF

Help Support WCF:

I'm considering dropping some of my more challenging customers due to a few different reasons.I was wondering what sort of reasons some of you will have to drop a crusty lol?

How do you also go about?

Bad payers, messers, bad attitude, superiority complex, underpriced, the list goes on. Sometimes I just don't go back, other times I have just told them straight. Binned one because he was rude and thought he was an expert. Pinched @Green Pro Clean Ltd line, and with several people watching said "unfortunately you attitude means you no longer fit my customer profile" and walked off. Good thing was a couple of neighbours heard, came over and asked me to do theres, as he's a complete knobhead and nobody likes him!!

Rather than drop them, say the the price is going up to something worthwhile and they may drop you and if they don't then a few extra quid. Obviously this is completely useless advice if it's the customers who you want rid of more than the houses. Also depends if the customers are near others. Will they see you still doing it. Could just tell them your having to cut down due to volume of work and perhaps give them details of other wc. Up to the new windy if they take it on. I gave up mine this way and set them up with another one I did it via a letter but told them verbally as well gave them a couple of months notice.

If that's the case wouldn't even give them the courtesy of a letter. Just not turn up or miss them out. Teaboy is right we are not servants. If they speak to you tell them that you are unable to continue due to "personal reasons" and that should end it lol

I have had A recent cull of messers lately, just be honest and tell each individual the real reasons, but be as polite as you can.

One customer I was doing left his gate locked I do his neighbours explained by by txt about access he promised it wouldn't happen following month same thing happened so last month I didn't bother texting took him off my list, I knew I would eventually bump into him again as I was packing way after doing the neighbours he comes out all high and mighty arrogant tttwatt as you can tell I never liked him in the first place. Just explained that I have bills to pay could have fitted another customer in place of him, and a little message from him wouldn't have hurt, all my customers want a good and reliable service and in return I need the same to plan my day he was one I actually enjoyed removing off my list.

I get some that say "not this time" blah blah. If it happens more than twice I say "sorry my round is almost fully booked so I only take on customers who want a regular clean. I can leave them again this time but if I get a new regular customer before the next clean I will have to give them your slot"

So far that's getting rid of the messers if they don't care or teaches them I'm not messing about and they tell me to clean.

I've changed my mentality over this recently. Before I didn't want to dump messer s incase I didn't replace them and lost money. But to be honest I'm picking up an average of 3 customers a week just from being out working. Even if I didn't pick up extra, I feel less stressed k owing I'm working for decent customers each day.

I'm doing same for bad payers. If they mess about with paying I suggest direct debit. If they won't do it or change I say I can't continue the service for them anymore.

It actually feels good to be the one sacking them off not the other way round

That's my mentality makes a big difference to your day knowing the customers you have a decent folks and not messers, messers can always be replaced with good custies.

I think if you are staying as a one man band then it should be an almost endless process of dumping work and taking on better work, start with all the bad payers then the bad access then the ones you don't like then up the prices rinse and repeat.

If you are looking to employ and expand then you can take a bit more not ideal work as yiu won't be the one doing it lol..as long as they pay obviously that's the main thing.

I've had it with these arrogant/passive types before, I've always had a good rapport with all my customers. But this guy I couldn't get along with he said you might have to leave them after the next (?) Clean. No reason given.

So without telling him dumped him. So the next time I did both houses either side of his, he came out and asked "why haven't you done mine?" I says,

"Sorry, your slot has been replaced" with that he flounced into his house slamming the door. Ha ha.

Anyway, saw him last week cleaning his windows with a hosepipe, very professional. lol.
