Hi chaps...

Just a randon question.

If you see the attached photo of a house. Lets say you needed to clean this trad with a ladder. How would you personally approach the top two windows to the right? Would you use your ladder to get up and walk on the roof in order to clean those? Im new and about to take on a few of my first custys but the one thing worrying me is how to approach hard to reach windows and do you or dont you walk on roofs?

Cheers

If you have long enough ladders set them on the fascia above the window. Or if you have a mate to stand on the foot of the ladder angel to match the pitch. Failing that get a pole and do them that way.

Hey guys...im talking about the windows above the garage and front door. The only way id see it possible is if you use your ladder to climb onto the second small roof or get your ladder to the lower gutter height and use a pole from there. Standing on roof doesnt sound safe and a pole from that length might be too difficult. Anyways, i was just checking if there was a tried and tested way to do these lips. Cheers chaps

Bear in mind this chap is a newbie so might not have a lot of experience with a pole & squeegee.

They look like pan tiles so I wouldn't stand on them.

If the people are in ask if you can pop in & do them from inside.

Long way to stretch with a pole

I would get some practice with a pole and excelerator or wagtail so you don't need to change tools

Once you have mastered it those jobs are very easy with a pole and a harris decorators pole is only £15 for the 5m one

Put your ladder up on to the top corner of window so it can't move "The revile" ...keep one foot on ladder and a foot on the sill clean them like that..I would put a wheelie bin at bottom so the ladder doesn't slip back if there's one handy
