Some advice on WFP trolley systems

That's a nifty setup Spruce.
TBH I was gutted when I saw this.

We had just bought a 'new' van for my son. It is a Citroen Berlingo 800 LX Hdi. What he actually wanted was a van with 3 seats or a Multispace as we have 2 small grandchildren he needs to also transport occasionally.

We had Fiber glassed the rear and fitted his old 500 liter tank back in.

He works part time these days so doesn't need 500 liters of water at a time. A Multispace with this in the back would have been the ideal solution. In fact we may have to get rid of his van in the future and look at this option. On the occasions he needed to transport both grandchildren he has sent his wife to work in his van and he has used the car. He mainly works with me off my van.

Hi Daniel Perkins. I am in county Louth and have recently bought a 25 litre trolley system from pure freedom. It worked out at about 1600 euros delivered from the uk.

I'd definitely save the euro's of a professional trolley and opt for a backpack (£100) and folding trolley (£20).

Easier to lift out of a car as it can fold away and doesn't ever weigh much over 25kg which is far easier to get in and out.

Its a consideration, but I think a backpack will slow him down doing commercial. My son prefers to use a backpack when doing residential but as soon as we have a lot of commercial windows the hose reel comes out. But only @Daniel Perkins knows what his commercial application is. What will work for him may not work for you and I.

Thanks guy, Sean Murray looks great I'll check it out. Waiting back on prices from x line and i'll get some prices elsewhere.

I don't have any residential at the moment as too busy with the commercial work. The trolley system IMO seems more viable option, now that spruce has kindly showed that I don't have tds levels of 720 & Clisty1989 has given me a good breakdown of items ... it's time for me to get browsing. Delighted I found this site or I would absolutely lost! Cheers for all the help, i'll get some prices together and pop back.

If your going for PF one get the 50l version....less time changing barrels and is a doddle to wheel about...can do it one handed.

Then get 100m hose and reel and either leave the unit in the van if your moving a lot or put it next to van and reel out....I can get through half a day without moving it....don't even need to load barrels on trolley just leave them on ground.

Thanks very much mate, would you recommend the pure freedom? Don't think i'll need to RO if tds low here, might email them and see do they tailor a package. If I could save on the RO I could upgrade on pole and brush etc maybe.
They will tailor a package to suit you. Its a good quality product. They fit a heavy duty Shurflo pump and a Spring manufactured controller. Both those items are used with van mount systems. Backpacks aren't designed for continuous use and use lower spec pumps and electronics. (We've never had a pump fail on any of our backpacks over the years; its the electronic controllers and or 3 speed change over switches that are their Achilles heel in our experience.

From a professional view, the PF trolley looks the business and performs well. Using a backpack doesn't give the right impression IMHO.

Whatever you do and how you go about doing it is your advertising board; your image. You are promoting yourself to the outside world. People will either admire you or make derogatory remarks. Its all about your reputation.

The majority of users on here would only buy poles from Gardiners. Forget the fiberglass rubbish PF will try to fob off on you.

Yeah I think the backpack is out for me. Completely agree about he image aspect and that's why I'm being a bit pedantic about the research as I don't want to make a mistake. DO you recommend a hybrid or carbon for me as a first time user?

If the budget will stretch an SLX. A CLX is fine as a starter pole if the budget it tight. I used a CLX for years to begin with. Now the SLX 22 and SLX40 are my poles of choice. Keep the grit out of it and it will last a long time. Mine get taken apart periodically and sprayed with a thin coat of engine lacquer.

Lovely i'll look into both of them you mentioned. Going to contact pure freedom about their trolley as xline don't seem interested in contacting me back. Just looking at the SLX30, looks great pole. Lot of extras that you can choose from which i'm not sure about i.e. Gooseneck, Brush, Jets, Hose/Valve & hose adaptor. Reviews on Gardiner seem to be great too.

Each one of those components are sold separately so you can so onto the site and look at each item and see if it would be a neccessary option for you and your customer's windows.

One thing I would suggest is a Univalve to shut your water off immediately you finish cleaning a window. This will save you water. Gardiners sell their Gooseneck angle valve which has mixed reviews. It works well but needs regular servicing and maintenance.

If you go down this route, Gardiner's don't sell Univalves. You will need to do some research into what pole hose Gardiners sell that will work with the Univalve as not all hose will work properly. I bought 'tons' of hose from Aquadapter in the early days which has been on all our poles for years. Because of this I've not kept up with other pole hose offerings.

Exceed Innovation | Water fed pole innovation

Exceed sell the pole hose as well but you don't need to buy 2 lots.

Have you received your tds meter yet?

Still haven't received the bloody tds meter but it gives me time to do all the research before I make the purchase. I have a hell of alot more information now since I joined this site so I might take a few days until it arrives to sort out exactly what I want. Thanks again for all your help.
