Just recently back from my holidays in Tenerife and it was our third time there. Planning to go back there whenever we can! Lovely place, lovely people and all that.

So I had that thought in mind for a second (no, actually it is bothering me for a few weeks now) could a good window cleaning business be built over there?

Has anyone on here done that?

Windows are everywhere that need to be cleaned, right?!

The Mrs has been asking me the same thing!! Worth doing the homework, better weather over there

Be interesting to see if any of the guys know more about this. I have wondered the same thing about the Balearic islands where I have spent a lot of time. No idea about Tenerife as I've never been but I can't ever recall seeing a windie working in areas of Spain ive been. I guess they do have em but not sure if they do how often Windows are cleaned in those sort of countries. Be great though if you could make a business work over there. Imagine it Work early till it gets too hot before lunch, pub for a quick after work drink or 3 and then hit the beach. Perfect

Just did a little dig online, most people saying that in the majority of place they do there own, and commercial is usual sewn up tighter then a ducks ****. Apart from Oz, USA, Canada, here and a couple of others its apparently not a viable plan

We go to Tenerife twice a year love it

Got some great friends there now

I always think about the windows there but god it's hot there

When you on hol it's different not sure if like to work hard in that hest

Yeah got a friend who lived there and did window cleaning, nothing special. And people don't like going up ladders there just like here ha!

We go every Christmas and are thinking of buying a gaff out there.

I don't see it being easy to start a window cleaning business out there. There are tons of hotels where accessibility would be an issue. Also most of the little villas have those security bars all over them.

For those who live out there, they are generally retired, so have the time to do their own I.m.o

They got bars on most windows (in Spain actually, not 100% on Tenerife) though so have to go inside then slide the windows out and do both sides like our window cleaner does in our Spanish place... I'd rather get stabbed then go through what he does.. but it's a lifestyle I guess and if you can make a living and don't mind it then worth investigating as all that sunshine would be lovely!

I have seen window cleaning runs out there for sale twice. One a couple of months back, making about £115 per day flat out in the heat. So i think pricing is cheaper. I also had a lad graft for me for a short while how was travelling back and forth from benidorm to a round hear and a one out there. His other mate lived out there and did rope access over there was doing ok out of it. Normally its window cleaning and pool cleaning together. FLORIDA has got to be the best round i have ever seen for sale. It was all shops and business along the coast. Was mint money. Coco beach ect, i was 23 years old then. **** i would be of like a shot if i could go back in time.

Suppose it will depend in the culture at the attitude to window cleaning in whatvever country you decide to do it.

If its anything like other here, bang on lot of doors and leaflet like crazy and build a load of monthly work it wont be too difficult, but im guessing it wont be like that...

On my lunch break and just found this on facebook.

It is a company called Cleaning Tenerife.

They charge 19€ for 3 windows!!

Here is the price list:

I remember googling this when first seeing the post. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think there is a hefty monthly fee involved in running such business there.

We viewed a property in los Christianos over Xmas, as I have mentioned on here before, we are considering buying out there.

My wife asked about maintenance fees etc, when we was given a price, we was told if we pay a certain amount a month (cant remember how much, but it was a pittance) we could have maids come in regularly.

I asked would this include the windows? Of course was his answer.

After a bit more digging, it seems a lot of people buying, or renting out use this service.

On a side note, sod working in 30degree heat, id rather work in drizzle /emoticons/smile.png
