Starting to get leave them from now on texts

I been finding the same last few wks just a few but is frustrating and when I get new ones I find I'm getting ones saying Il call you when I want them arghhh

Picked up £280 in jobs, quoted £300+ more and got 5 new regular customers at £25-100 per Clean in the last few days. I'm becoming busier and busier at the moment.

Can't speak for all areas though of course.

Hope you don't suffer too badly pal. Best of luck.

Just say no thanks. Get the frequency agreed before you even bother cleaning them mate. No time for people like that, you end up working your **** off twice a year for them and that's it.

so some are say there snowed under some are saying there struggleing so wheres everybody from then ? is it a north vs south thing ?

Selling off excess work on a regular basis to a windy I'm friendly with. Loads of work in costa del Bromley.

Stay away though, its mine!!!!! /emoticons/wink.png

Not sure mate. Or it's the type of clientele you're dealing with versus others.

I try and steer clear of the lower paid jobs these days (£10 houses etc) because of the inconsistency. I find if I can get a good price and provide the service worthy of the cost then they're a customer for life. Not had anyone cancel other than relocating outside of my areas for a few years now. Then word of mouth from those bags you another job and so on and so on.

Did one yesterday, £8 per Clean more than their friend who recommended me. Plus they had it done in and out for £50 and it took me 35min. Couldn't be happier, loads of praise and gratitude then asked me for gutters too. All stemmed from a £17 ev2 job I got last year and how happy she was too.

Can't complain.

Try going for lower quantity but better quality houses where poss. Definitely helps. Not saying some of them aren't a pain in the bum still but it's more worthy of the hassle when it's a £30 house over a £8 terrace who keeps asking you to leave it.

this is what ive found the cheaper the work the more hassle that comes with it that's why we now don't do anything under 15 quid

Thanks CRose overall got enough but sum days I finish earlier and def harder to get new ones now from canvassing best way is being seen or word of mouth will probably start getting few more now like this week picked up new job and a one off. Think south is best for prices but sum depends on area and how many Window cleaners there are, there are a lot down Bournemouth way. I'm just pleased I got gud work

If you ever get this BS from anybody then you need to put your foot down and tell them the facts. You run a business, you have costs ect ect

I always ALWAYS ask a new custy - 'Are you looking for regualar or one off?' and I have a price list for every property type and frequency you can imagine AND I have the one off cost if they are that way inclined. Its in my my diary, taped to the first page so I show them as they tell me. That way they've got nowhere to go - no negotiation. 'These are our prices Madam, now if you opted for regular, it would be cheaper and your windows will be kept immpecibily clean to the highest standards'.

I haven't picked up that much new work recently, which is surprising. But I know things will change. I got a fair bit over xmas and new year when you would have thought things would drop off.

As soon as April is here, Im canvassing new areas and bulk printing a brand new flyer. Got it all worked out in my mind. I have targets and goals that I work towards.

To the original poster - I would say forget all of those excuses you listed as to why your custys are cancelling. They are simply deadwood. Move on and replace and sack them off, dont even keep them on your books. Like Daveyboy and Chriss33 said, there is LOADS of work out there for all of us

The statement South is best for prices is a bit skewed in real terms.
The cost of living is a lot higher down south, Up north in County Durham my prices might be 50-75% lower but so is a pint of beer compared to London.

Yep pricing and cost of living is all relative. If I could buy a house for 75k I wouldn't be charging as much!

At the end of the day there is no written rule to pricing in our trade. You've got to set your own worth in reality - how much do YOU want to earn an hour to cover all the time spent doing behind the scenes stuff when you're not cleaning and go from there. I charge more an hour now than ever because I'm in demand and my quality of cleaning has gone up (switched to WFP last year = far superior results) and now I don't have any staff to pay either. People don't question it, and if they did then they're not the kinds of customers you want.

I've never found the cost of living higher in the south... Aside from House prices or rental prices of course.

Everything else seemed pretty much the same... Gas, leccy, petrol, council tax, food, clothes etc etc

Having said all that I've only ever lived in the south

If there asking to leave them now then jus cut yur losses...you don't need customers like that...I think you need to pick yur houses better...most of my houses are word of mouth "the best way of advertising " or they ask me in the street after watching me....that way of building it up yu can pick and choose yur work better...am behind every week by £100-200 so work is good and if anybody looks at me funny there gone .....never canvassing as it pick ups all the bad"uns ....
