Traditional v Wfp

Some trad cleaners miss windows over conservatories and extensions, see it all the time. They always miss velux and rooflights too. Half a job...........

Got to love half a job

I've taken on lots of work from trad cleaners because of the pitfalls of that method. I.e breaking guttering from resting ladders, squashing plants, holes in lawn, too much noise from banging about and waking up shift workers etc etc (all the things I was more than aware of when I cleaned trad for 11 years).

As with everything in life, not one given method is perfect. I've also taken on WFP from non believers or those who have bad experiences.

Which ever you choose, do it properly and you won't be the one they complain about.

My only complaint with wfp is sills upstairs can sometimes be hit and miss it in shady places turning green . And traditional you can't get you cloth in the nitty bit where wfp rinses away . Health n safety wfp wins hands down .I'm 30 odd years in and legs r feeling it now where as the 21st century boys (wfp) shouldn't have this problem

Each as there pros and cons, but so's everything. I believe if you can do both your laughing. For example, I'd wfp a 3 storey house, over Conny's etc, but would rather trad a bungalow, shop front, or houses with 1 or 2 easy upstairs windows. Also depends on my mood. Good for breaking up the day, equally as good IMO, as long as its done properly

Definitely should know how to trad even if wfp. Some properties are better done trad. I do one barn conversion trad. As there is a big dirty untreated strip of wood between top openers, and the main big windows.

I did do six bungalows trad until I forgot my little steps one day, so did wfp. All of the old lady's loved that I didn't step on the flower beds. So asked to be swapped over. Only thing I don't like about trad is ladders. I won't personally go above first floor. If green decking or sloping ground no ladder option is given. Wfp or nothing. Benefit of site visits to quote. You see and discuss all options with clients. I have done three stories with wfp rest trad now full wfp. Bad experience with previous wfp guy so Wonted traditional. No issue when I said yes but third floor is wfp only for safety reasons. Long as you do a good job both have there place.

Just wrecked rotator cuffs and other shoulder issues lol

All of the previous already mentioned any job not done properly will yield poor results !!

I had one guy come up to me saying he needed a window cleaner but was sceptical about wfp i quickly explained about been thorough etc and he give me the go ahead but said he didn't want a regular clean until he had seen the windows dry after I was done . 4 weeks later when i was back in his street he came down the road singing my praises and paid me 5 months in advance and continues to pay up front .

Typically I only trad insides apart from one exception a kids nursery were I have to go through the building to access the rear windows so telescopic ladder and trad gear I did 8 years trad so know both techniques extremely well and how each should be done properly .

I've been collecting new customers over the last few days and a lot of them already have a windy but they all tend to mention that there not happy with this wfp method because it leaves marks and they perfered the "old fashioned way"...
So there happy I've come along...

What do you think causes this wfp issue??

I do both trad & WFP every day , whatever the custy wants they get , it's them that are paying for the clean.

If I can get away with a pole clean I take it , if not I just bump it off with the blade , it's all in a day's work for me .

I don't try to explain this and that just get it done and draw the readies LOL .

Cheers guys .

Glenn .

Always try to do a thorough job on first cleans but I also tell them about the possibility of the odd drip and explain why that might happen. Only been called back twice I think. I personally dry all top frames off with a towel on first cleans then rinse glass. But if it's a really bad window and you happen to be working in heavy wind or rain there is a chance it won't be percent.
As for trad I can't see any reason at all to choose it over wfp other than its cheaper?
I've got a couple of houses that have really old pvc frames that leech a white pigment, so have to wash frames thoroughly and wipe dry the ones I can reach, but custie is aware of problem and is ok.

Also found some wall paint finishes splash pigment onto glass from the rain. Got one estate where they are all like that until they have it repainted. Very satisfying to shine them up.

Get up th3 ladder on the first clean and get them sills clean. After that wfp is enough to maintain them

Those old frames give off white stuff due to oxidisation over time

Give them a spray of ubik or similar on your brush and scrub the hell out of them

After a while you will have scrubbed and rinsed it all off and not have a problem with them

I went there a few years back when Pete tong was doing a set. Proper banging night. Came out of there at half six in the morning

That pool was the first in Britain to have a wave machine. By pure coincidence, I'm on the train now going to football and about to approach elephant and castle. A boring fact for you /emoticons/biggrin.png
