Okay so I am using gocardless for all new out of town houses and have lots of local ones online..but

There is still an amount of collecting going on,as I gradually get it all online.

So for the ones that done have money when I go and collect this is an issue. I am writing letters to all customers with the onus on really pushing go cardless.

My question is am I justified in adding a note to these letters explaining that any houses I collect off that are not home when I do so (they all know when I collect) /or have no money on them will be billed a subsequent pound for recollections?

Glad I never collected as I bet it's hard work trying to convert them. If they can't pay online maybe eventually you will have to get rid?

Aye I have enough enquiries to do that over spring and summer mate, but it's just the same ones each time. Time to bin I think tbh

Hello luv. Payments are all by GoCardless now. Just grab you bank details and I can get you set up right now on my phone.

What's that? You dont want to pay DD? No problem, I am sorry I cant clean your windows any more but it's company policy now. You know how it is, it's all online these days.

-------------

If they dont get onboard then dump them and move on. Use the timenyou would use collecting to canvass a few fresh ones instead.

Yeah I think I will. The ones in this town are fine to collect 'for now'. That is literally 230 plus within 1 mile of me..I could walk that collection.

Out of town all new are gocardless only,so I'll bin any old out of town that don't do the same. 20 on gocardless now and time to letter the rest, that needs a big push more then I need to really think about anymore work as such...that all comes to me now,I guess that's a positive.

The extra charge is a good idea in theory but will it work , I started out as cash collection only then to bacs and PayPal with still a fair amount of cash collecting average 6 hours a week and was only getting a small percentage of what I was owed = P.I.A as a £10.00 can quickly become a £5.00 job with costs involved in collecting .

I tried getting customers onto GC with the offer of £15.00 gift card monthly draw very small take up within 11 months so binned that off but its an option maybe .Cash collecting was costing me thousands a year in fuel and wasted man hours now 3 years down the line i can finishing cleaning for the day and go home and spend some time with my dog ooh and my wife if needed  .

Ultimately I have tried all sorts over the years with differing payment cards etc but a bit of time and refinement has paid off , Just give me a shout Chris33 if you want to talk through the options .

I've posted letters myself offering gc and bacs, the people that are usually in are the ones that signed up, few on the bin list soon myself

Okay guys thanks very much. I think I'm going to write up go cardless letters today.

I don't want this round progressing further/bigger unless the payment aspect is ticking over nicely.

Give them a month free for going on GC.

Say they pay £12. Per month. Thats £144 per year.

For signing up they will pay £11 per month instead so over the year they get one free.

You will still prifit from time not wasted collecting and then next year price rise time.

Winner winner
