hi, i was driving trucks for a living and fed up with the rat race so to speak.a few years ago i used to do some bungalows just to bunce up my money on a saturday, how ever am not working at the moment.but i have a inheritance,so my question is,i wanna give it a go,so i wanna know is it silly to use a catchy name or do you use a some what professional name? i want to do traditional so what is the best van to buy? and where to go for public liability insurance, and what else would i need for legal stuff?

i am hoping you can give me advice and tips.

cheers

Research, research and research is all I can say,, oh the search bar is your friend here! Many threads on everything you need to know, grab a cuppa and start searching you will find all you need to know! Good luck

Use whatever name you like, buy a van with a decent payload for the inevitable switch to waterfed once you get established, caddy/berlingo/connect. And use the search, everything you need to know will have been covered!

Why do you want to start trad? Much better to start WFP IMO. Do it the cheap way ... backpack from Gardiners, stick it on a trolley with bungee cords, a few 25L barrels & CLX-22 pole. You might even find someone local to you who will sell you purified water if you don't want to do it yourself.

Hello and welcome to the forum!

My van is my biggest expense and has the biggest range of all my monthly/quarterly variable expenses.

Why would you wanna do it traditional if you'be got the money for WFP (I assume that's what you meant by mentioning inheritance) trad is cool I guess if you've been doing it for a long time but there's no way I think those guys would chose it these days if they had a choice... also depends how busy you see yourself getting?!
