School Contracts

Lots of schools us FM companies for cleaning and these will look after the window cleaning.

CRB checks are a nightmare. Anyone know if you would have to pay this yourself?
if you work for a company its down to them to pay for it. but if your self employed then you have to pay for it, it cost me £50 to get mine done!

nice one, but lets hope he has permission to give out the work, most of the timei t has to be the head and the boards that decide who to ask.

its fine it its after hours and there are no kids there! otherwise it will be wise to check just in case,

It will be either the Bursar, the site manager, the caretaker or the finance officer (could be any of these) I would ask for the site manager initially, hope that helps

I also depends on whether it's a public or private school. Public schools are required by law to make their tenders public through things like Tenders Direct or Contrax Weekly. Private schools operate as a normal business in this respect and it's up to the individual school to decide if/when they go to tender.

I used to write tenders for a big FM company. Never again.

Hi

I have been cleaning schools now for the past 4 years. If you can get an enhanced CRB it's worth it's money in gold. Also you can promote yourself for residential customers that you are CRB checked!!

I have 21 schools on the books, a bit of a drag waiting to get paid but once you do, it all comes in at once. Some want them cleaning once a year, others 3 or 4 times per year. Emails direct to the school worked for me, then the head or caretaker would ring and request a quote.

Once you clean a few, and your good, then word of mouth from the head works.

You can't. I got it through someone I know (school bursar) from a primary school, who's windows I clean 4 times each year. They put me down as employed by them.
