Okay Iain can u email me now and do it all for me /emoticons/wink.png lol
I'll email you the voucher this morning but you'll need to set it up yourself unless you want me to manage the campaign but this'll cost ya!

I have no patience filling in online forms I hate it so no adwords for me lol
It's a big of a ball ache and Google haven't helped themselves by making it more complicated lately but it's still an awesome tool. Did you use the voucher I sent you?

No lol I did try setting it up but just got peedoff lol I still have it so will give it a try maybe /emoticons/biggrin.png

Paul you may aswell use the £50 free.. If your already on the first page for the services in your area then there ain't really no need for Adwords.. But im daft and I found it quite simple..

We used it for 2yrs from when we first set up and built all of our business around it. Would spend £20-30 a week. Might not get much at first but over a few months it pays for itself. You only need to drop 1 contract and it blasts the cost out of the water.

The big problem you have is you pay everytime someone clicks on it. That can cost you your budget for the day and you might not get nothing..... or your competitors can click on it and that will take your budget. Its a risky game but it dos work. In the past we had to stop using it becuase it brought too much work in. We stopped using it a yr ago as we were up to capacity.

Depends what work you want. If its people's houses..... go knock on the door. If its commercial work ,go google. At the end of the day....who ever is the buyer for the company tendering will go straight to google and search..... "Window Cleaning Company (what ever area)"

am going for it /emoticons/smile.png sounds good mate /emoticons/tongue.png

1 big commercial job will amke up for it easily mate like u said /emoticons/tongue.png

Honestly when i first started using adwords i just used to think every time i get a call, have it in your head that call is worth £1000/year or email is £1000. I literally used to have in mind that when the phone rings anwser it and get £1000 to make sure i was ready to take the call and impress!

The first time i set ad words up i got an enquiry withing 5 mins! madness..... but that was for domestic cleaning which people do tend to ring for.

1 new domestic cleaning customer for me pays for adwords for a yr so it really is a no brainer! Our biggest commercial customer found us on google...... they now give us approx £17 000 of work a year (not all window cleaning). and am currently working with them to dedicate a van and man to them. They sub out circa £70k worth of window cleaning a year and i have only about 10% of it so theres another 90% to go at! So anyone who says its now worth doing is clearly mad. Like i said above the issue is you can pay out a lot before your big one drops..... but when it does.... you're laughing! when i first set up i had just been made redundant and had no money what so ever, but just took a risk on it ive still got no money, as running costs etc get bigger but we're at a point now where everything that we've needed to buy has been bought and hopefully moving onto better times!

I'll make no money window cleaning this yr, but in a yrs time i'll have paid everything of from the commercial work so yr 2 everything goes on the bottom line! : )

im not here to say, how great everything is but i will help out where ever i can cus i really do love trying to help people out....

One thing i will say about adwords..... once you start using google you'll get more companys trying to sell you stuff cus they start finding you on google. You'll also get companies ringing you telling they can get you to the first page of google for £500! its rubbish, you dont need them. You can do it yourself easily for free!!!! NEVER PAY ANYONE TO HELP YOU OUT ON GOOGLE!

how do you how much to put down for the pay per click?

If you were set up on it already you could be at the top of google in 5 mins,,,,,, Adwords works on a "how much will you pay to be at the top!"

You basically have to set a CPC (Cost per click). you can put in an amount and google will estimate how high you will be... although what ever they say i always go a bit lower on the basis im tight and think they're just after more money from me!!

So if me and you were competing in the same area if i bid 50p to be at the top of the page and you bid 55p, you go top. The issue is, i thien see you above me and go 60p, you go 65p etc.... I usually just stick to what im prepared to pay. But if you bid £1 per click (ie every time someone clicks your link you automatically pay for it!!!) and the second highest bidder that day us only 20p , youd only pay 21p. But if they bid 99p, you'd pay the full £1 per click.

This is why it dicks you off when you then start getting calls off sales people cus you know youve just paid for them to see your website!! I also get LOADS of phone calls off people lookig for work when ever we use it, so your budget can dissapear by time wasters clicking your adds.

You also set a budget per day. ie £5. Once you'v used all that up your ad dissapears for the day......

But you can set times you want your ad to rune etc so you could set it for eg every day at lunch time..... ie when people are sat having their lunch and think oh i'll just sneak on the interent and find a window cleaner......

The free vouchers you can get are great if you can get hold of them, They often give them away with PC or web building magazines.... ive never used one as ive alsways just paid for it.... but if somone gave me a £50 voucher i would expect to get at least £1000 of added turnover per yr from it.... I would imagine in window cleaning youd expect to take minimum £100 of a domestic customer per year...... so if you got 5 from it thats £500 and i would say in my mind, right, im going to clean their windows for a yr to invest that cash into more advertising,,,,,,

Having said that i still think for domestic work..... knocking on a door cant be beaten.....its efficient and you get an answer there and then....

When we first started out i think i had a budget of £5 a day and put my top bid of about 60p per click......

You can pause it at any time so it will never run away with costs or go over your budget....

I set it going for a few weeks last month and work started coming in.... but we got too busy so paused it again. Seriously guys.... dont underestimate the power if it.....just have a bit of money set aside to pay for it.......

I always re invest stuff so just keep ploughing it back in..... its for long term gains..... ok i drive a **** car at the moment i clean all sorts of ****, my mate laugh at me etc but i couldnt give a rats @ss cus i know whats being built up! I dont mind working hard and earning very little to build something that one day i'll hopefully hand over to my lad..... (though i always laugh that by the time he's old enough he'll prob tell me to shuv my cleaning co up my @ss!!)

Iain howcome u supply the vouchers ?
Where do u get them from mate
My company's registered with Google Engage so we can help people get started with AdSense. Amazingly we get nothing from Google for this but it draws extra traffic to a site that we've built which is good for our own website and Internet presence.

good stuff /emoticons/smile.png
