Does anybody do roof cleaning, im toying with the thought of adding it to my services, ive been reading about softwashing for roofs and the exterior of building, you apply a bio-degradeable bleach to the roof with a low pressure pressure washer, i just cant seem to find the products in the UK they all seem to be in the USA, and i dont know if you can use a normal industrial pressure washer.

is there anybody who can shed some light on the subject

Paul

Not really, but the bloke who put next doors double glazing reckons to pressure wash them can damage the tile, not in breaking it but cos he says they have some sort of coating on and to pressure wash can remove it and cause leaks. I've a reasonable knowledge of the building trade, but never heard that, but I've never done roofing. I wouldn't take that as gospel, though I would look a bit deeper if considering it

I am not sure if I can help...but...

My mate had alot of moss on the roof, which kept going in the guttering clogging it up, he decided to power wash his own roof, so aslong as you wash downward your fine, no water should go in the roof.

When we did this, I noticed how some roofs look cleaner then others, especially two houses side by side with the same roof so people out there do do roof cleaning, I wouldnt know how they go about it though.

this is why i want to use the soft wash method there is no pressure being thrown down on the roof slate/tiles, its a low pressure method, but finding it hard to get the kit and find in depth info on it

yeh ive seen them before but its not what i want to do, i want softwashing chemicals you spray them on, leave them then rinse it off no hard pressure

oh right, other option it so phone a company that offers the service and speak to them about it, they might beable to help you.

ive found one down south ive just sent them a email this morning, hopefully they will get back to me

Ive done a 3 roofs, with an industrial pressure washer, I dont recommend it to be honest. Its to powerfull. Ideally you want something with low pressure and a high flow rate.

You dont even need to use a pressure washer, Ive seen a few company just scrape all the dirt/algae off the roof with a file like too. It takes longer I presume.

Paul i like your idea mate /emoticons/smile.png I was looking at this when i seen the soft washing video /emoticons/tongue.png But thought naaa... to much hassle /emoticons/tongue.png

Im still building my round up... once im busy busy busy ... i will end up adding something like this to my business /emoticons/smile.png

I got to de moss a roof at the end on the month got a roof ladder ,tower scaffolding large scrapers and a pressure washer i will let you know how i get on i will make a video lol

Thats really bad roof mark!

Cant wait to see picture after.

How much do people charge for roof cleaning I thought people charge between £200 to £400 is that right?
