So how are you guys managing to park in city/town centres when it comes to doing the commercial jobs or a block of flats for example??

I ask this because of the problem with double yellow lines or bus lanes etc. Are there such things as trader permits that allow you the park there at certain times maybe?

Obviously there's money to be made on these shops, bars, pubs we see on the high street but i'm just curious as to how to get around these 'no parking areas' that are all over the place.

If its the City Centre you can get a permit, usualy costs alot of money, (between £100 to £1000! yearly!)

Not sure about town centres as there usually smaller.

Not worth it unless you clean loads of shops/pub/clubs windows every day!

i often do my commercial work early morning evenings or the odd time on a sunday when the traffic is quiet

I do no work where you can't park.

Simple.

I don't do any work in town or city centres.

This is a problem I thankfully don't ever have to deal with.

when doing my shops and commercial work there are parking for a hour at a time. but get on well with the traffic warden so park up there for 3-4 hours no problem.

others i pay for parking or park on a free parking road and use the trolly to clean them with.

lol dont have back pack and never will, they are to heavy and bulky and dont carry enough water. if you are on about the trolly with a 25lt barrel pump and battery a lot of them like the idea of it and have asked me for about making them and where i got the bits. then the poles i have had some larger window cleaning companys ask me about them as they reduce the risk assesment when you use them with a back pack as there is never any trailing hoses when you use the pole upto 32ft and when you have it at its lowest.

had other window cleaners come up and asked me to have a go with them etc

so in answer no they dont.

Here in Cumbria a window cleaner can park where they want and use the bus lanes as long as you have a sign displaying window cleaner and your not blocking a public highway

Source...Carlisle City Council and my neigbour the traffic warden lol

here where i live i can park anywhere /emoticons/tongue.png like i jsut park on the kerb wherever /emoticons/tongue.png they dont do f all lol

They certainly aren't like that round here and you don't even get a ticket, they do it from a van or the street CCTV. So the first you know about it is when the letter arrives. Where I live the camera van drives down my road at least twice a day. One wheel up on the kerb and you get done. I have seen them doing it loads of times. Even if you pull onto the drive of a house but can't get fully on because there is already a car on there they will have you.
