Wheatie

How much would DIY cost and how much for a set up from say a store or company for a WFP system not including the van of course but including the following: tank, fittings, brushes, poles, battery's, hose etc etc, if anyone has a FULL list for what is needed for WFP system.

Cheers guys!!!!

i got a 400l tank on ebay for £100, the pump and digital controller was £169, my pole was also on ebay for £70, another £100 for hose reel and some microbore hose, 40 m but I am going to get another 60 Meters. my 1000l icb tank cost £20 (really cheap at a company at dartford)

my transfer pump and 2 x 3 ton straps and transfer pipe cost about £100.

Cost me £1600 to set my van up but it's set up for 2 people to run off wfp both with individual pumps and controllers plus whole back of van painted in the special paint to protect the van, split chargers solar panels safety signs and equipment plus all gear for both people to work with trad gear too

Love this set up. Wish i could find someone to kit a van out like this for me cheaply! You obviously pretty handy with the electrics etc....

Cheers,

Yer have done electrics and plumbing in house before in last job so it just comes natural to me.

What area are you?

Im in Sheffield mate. Ive never done any electronic stuff so got no idea on that front.............

Also got no idea about vans, so am terrified about buying a pig of a van!!

Just over 100 miles from me then! Its easy really. I have no idea about buying a van either just guesswork for me! Come October in find out how good the van is as it's due for its mot tests then!!

Got it privately, saw it on ebay went and looked at it, it looked great no rust on a Y reg started first time new breaks fitted already only thing I noticed was some of the tyres needed replacing brought it for £900.

Wheatie - you will save at least £1000 doing it yourself...

I spent about £1500 max.. 350lt di system, clx 27, 3 DIY poles, 4 gardiners brushes, gardiners backpack plus lots of connections!!!

You could do a DIY system for less that 1000 easily.. Look for 2nd hand tank..

A great Idea for the solar panel system!!! May I ask how did you learn to fit all this mate?

fantastic, I just got the solar panel and a 12 v relay switch so that should save me charging the battery every night
