Solar Panel Brush?

W

Wheatie

For you guys who clean solar panels as well as windows what brushs do you use for solar panels, Are they different from w.c brushs?

Also poles, I understand I need a much bigger pole, and depending on the size of the house depends on the length of the pole, but could anyone recommend a pole for the heights needed, I don't want to invest, rock-up to a house the pole don't reach and I have to buy another one.

I would feel a size around 40-50ft would be playing it safe, I don't mind spending £300-£400 on this particular peice of equipment, as long as dont have to spend more money few months later on another high building/solar panel pole. but this doesn't include price of brush either.

Many many thanks everyone, I promis once I have all my kit and starting up I will leave you all be lol.

Regards!

What no one recommend a tecbuk brush? No doubt Richard will be along in a min to say it’s the best brush for the job. Sorry lads just my sense of humour is getting the better of me…

I think that you might have to up your budget for the pole a bit, an S-Max would be a great choice at middling prices, I'm thinking that this solar panel cleaning could be not quite as easy as it seems as they are perfectly placed to get clobbered with seagull poo which then gets sun baked to the consistency of cement. On the other hand it is an obvious add on service for us. I think a soft brush would be a good choice to minimise potential for damage. Quite likely need to have a way of getting detergent up there too.

I've not had a problem, just wet it, rub and then come back to it, no need for chemicals.

Take it you have used this one???

I use this brush for all my solar panel cleans as I do all the cleaning for a solar panel fitting company and they have inspected this brush and cleared it to use on there panels. I clean about 2 sets of panels a week and the company that I do it for and they have just put in a solar panel cleaning contact with the local council of over 350 solar panels, so this brush and I must be doing something right.

So I would 110% recommend this brush to anyone.

RC what pole do you use to do the solar panels?

Where did you get that from RC?
i'll try to remember, think it was only £199 or something like that, but its not the best pole to use as it is heavy, and not that rigid. best buy a better one,

Ok mate, cheers for the honesty RC!
thats ok, its a good pole for the price, but its not the best, its passable for guys that dont have the money to buy better poles, if i new what it was like i would of waited a little longer to get a better pole.

the pole was a Bare GXTEL Fibre glass water fed pole 40ft pole £236.39 inc vat.

wouldnt reccomemend it if you can afford to get a better one.

Would you say a S-Max pole, Gardiner, 42ft?

Wow I bet that's some weight!!! I've got the 20ft one and that's hard work full extended.

Yer it is really I try not to use it if I can help it. I got a 32ft aluminum pole that I use and that's a lot lighter than it! but like I say it saves me going to the gym!! Lol
