Is Window Cleaning Recession Proof?

No way! We had 6 guys out full time at my last work, on 2 of the weeks of the month we would have 7 out. After the recession. Hes now down to 4 guys, he lost a lot of good quality work.

The other side of it is that in a recession lots of guys lose their jobs and decide that window cleaning is a good way to keep some money coming in, so we all end up chasing the same work. It's not recession proof but compared to many other things it is pretty stable.

Window cleaning is definitely not recession proof but you spread the risk over hundreds of different customers then thats about as safe as you can get it.

Window cleaning in itself is not recession proof, but cleaning is. It is a service industry, the same as hairdressers. People will always need cleaning, the same as they will also need their hair cutting. But if you are only window cleaning, you are only hitting a tiny percentage of the cleaning market. It is like being a ladies hairdresser and only offering to do their hair with one colour. "You want your hair colouring blonde? Sorry we only ever do black!"

Our business model during the recession is not to find MORE customers but hit each customer for MORE money. Your window cleaning customer will always ask you do do other cleaning if you offer it. Each home has loads of scope. Not just windows but fascias, guttering in & out, fitting gutter guards, painting the guttering, you are already up there!!! Cleaning and sealing the patio, cleaning and oiling the decking, cleaning and sealing the driveway, cleaning the motorhome.

It depends where about you are.... If your the PIMP your takings wont be down... You would just dock the hoes wages lol. If yor a dealer you just cut it more. Simples
