I text my customers as usual only 10 out of my round of 17 jobs for tomorrow for access etc and 3 cancel

1 of them replied " dont need them doing thank you " errrm ok but you not had them done for 8 weeks now so thye are minging .

2 can you not do it this month as im away with work . errrrm ok you was away on holiday 8 weeks ago when you last cancelled

3 my husband has left me i cant afford it , ok love but i thought you was a lesbian !!!

I'm getting really really down about this now its making my F***n blood boil now do they think im doing it for the fun of it

i think i will just jack them all in now ive seriously had enough .

sell the lot and forget it .

Wouldnt you get on better if you never texted. Just turn up clean them, leve a not. Then return for the money? Atleast then they cant make excuses

 
well yes Mark i would do but these are houses that all have locked back gates so unless i just clean the front only

i need to txt them .

from now on im not txting any of them.

 
mate its part of the game so live with it why u taking your anger out on all your customers by saying ill jack them all in mate ?

come on u gotta learn that some customers are just mess abouts... THIS IS WHAT YOU GOT TO GO THROUGH TO GET A DECENT ROUND

 
Mate carry on texting them.... dont change your plans cos your scared incase they cancel... if they cancel just think yes thats another messer of my round ! thats how i see it /emoticons/smile.png i text like 4 people per day average /emoticons/smile.png if they cancel fair enough .... just move on and replace them..... no point in just doing fronts mate..... u want the back aswell.... dont stop doing the back just because you didnt want to text them mate

To get a good round u gotta get rid of the messers... and this is how its going to be as your a newbie like me /emoticons/smile.png

 
Your problem is tht your not replacing them..... if u replace them u will feel better mate /emoticons/smile.png

And how do you know ??? just cus i dont blart all over the bloody site every time me phone rings dont mean im not getting new customers .

Ive got a few like that, Do you think they would give you a key or the password. Ive got a pass/key for 4 locks.

Unfortunately "It is the nature of the beast".

People do think that because we are window cleaners we can be messed around!

But if you make sure that you remain positive and professional and dont let them get you down you will build a good round!

In my experience you should get the customers to know you as (What ever your name is) rather than "The window cleaner".

 
Just keep doing them for as long as you have to until you build a bigger round up, then dump them i had the same when i first started out now i do not have to ring anybody before i clean there windows

talk to your customers /emoticons/tongue.png have a bit of banter with them /emoticons/tongue.png and then when u talk to them call them by their name..... when u collect money say something to them like... its been a nice day hasnt it /emoticons/smile.png then wen u say bye say to them right ill catch u later bob ( wateve ther name is)

create a bond with your customers /emoticons/smile.png

I know how to interact with customers !!!

I call all my customers by there first names I get on well with them it's just getting rid of the messers .

 
I only let them do it twice then they are gone, I can't be bothered letting them pee me off because it does big time they must think it's a hobby

 
You'll get this no matter how long your a wc. Its hard at times but you got to stay focused on your goals and you get there.

Explain to the one who had done 8 weeks ago and said are fine, that she agreed to an x weekly service and if she wants to miss a clean then the next one will cost more or you will take her off your list. Least you know whether or not to waste your time with her next time.

As for the business dude do the same.

Got to be harder with people, if they believe you need them more than they need you, they will take the ****. I'm not saying don't be friendly and build relationships but got to make them realize the service is for them, its not a privilege for you to clean there windows.

And not "Your problem is .... this.... that.... other...."

He's just venting not asking for advice.

I see your problem ARC.

Windy Cleaner has it right, you need to tell them that if they cancel again then the price will go up, as an irregular customers windows are going to be worse each time than a regular one, and even if they say well it's not going to happen again, tell them that as they arranged for a regular service and aren't having one, you can't take their word.

Yeah Masons you know where I'm coming from .

I tell all my customers when I take them on the price is for 4 weekly and we agree a price but as you all know the first 12 months

You probably dump more than you keep as you weed them all out .

If I kept all the messers on my books I would of had around 150 but seeing as I dumped them all after 1 cancel I have around 80

It just seems I'm going backwards and I'm losing my temper now as I want this to work but it's these damn messers !

 
Most get this when starting but it soon goes. Just do the fronts & either charge them full wack for not getting back ( not what I would do but up to you) or just charge them half for the fronts. That way you still get somet then kick em into touch when you got enough custies.. This is what I do so I at least still get somet out of them.
