Help With Quote For Unusual Job

hi ya, i am old enough to remember these lamps when they were still in use, an old boy used to come round with his ladder on a push bike to light the gas mantel, the ornamentle cross bar on the lamps was specificaly to lean the ladder on, i supose the HSE will not allow this?
yer thas right there was used for ladders before all the hse came out. now your ment to use ladder as a last resort if there in no safer way to do it

or if you new that the pole was strong enough to take weight without falling, and you used other safety gear to secure it then this also can be used.

this type of ladder is designed for use on poles

Lol, bet its quite an event when a bulb blows in your house RC /emoticons/tongue.png
lol not really just pull the nearest box or chair over and use that to stand on it. when im working and there are other public that you have a duty of care to you work diffrently and more safely to protect them and to comply with hse and if anything does happen that my insurance pays out and my daughter is looked after ok. working unsafely is not an option to me as i want my daughter to have a good life if something bad happens.

Fair play RC, although the first 3 are not viable options are they as the rent would out weigh they fact that its such a small job etc

Not really. If things are done properly then cost doesn't come into it.

Some streets get shut down to clean windows safely to comply with hse. Some window cleaning companies already own machines like them due to the fact of safety.

Yer well you can thank the American way of suing for anything and the hse for this sort of thing. Like you say It is a joke with what they want people to do and comply with.

Don't get me wrong RC I'm well up for safety and puttings signs up etc, but a standard trad ladder against those two post bits won't be an issue at all so long as you keep to the 4-1ft rule, have a ladder stop and some kind of clip holding ladder to post.
