Went to price up a house tonight decent sized semi as the pic shows .

But on the back there is an extension with a 5ft window leaded and then the window above is about the same size

then 2 more bay windows too .

gave her me price £12.00 glass , frames , sills , doors .

immediate response NO !!! way way to expensive i only want to pay a fiver .

my response was erm no i wouldn't make anything if i was doing it for that , she said "well if you do mine you can get both my neighbors so there's £15"

my response was " it's still no " so she slams the door in my face and off i trundle !!!

where do these people come from ????

My friend John was having his windows cleaned by an old boy for £4 up till the time he moved about three years ago. The old boy had done the windows for years and never put the price up. Whoever follows him down that street when he finally packs up is going to find it hard going.

id do that but for £7 ive got a few like that.£5 is the new £3.50 round me lol so a fiver is not bad in my end thats my min charge mind.

Funny that she likes her previous cleaners price yet why is she looking for another one. He cant be that good. You should have reminded her she will get what she pays for.

were only cleaning windows lad its a no brainer lol what you think were doing laying bricks

have a read of this mental http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=1152753
I know we are "only" cleaning windows but just because we are "only" cleaning windows it doesn't mean we shouldn't be able to earn a decent living .

I can clean a 4 window flat for a fiver so why should I clean a 3 bed semi for that ???

Each to there own but I'm not happy cleaning a whole house for a fiver ! Besides they are paying for my time and a quality job

If she wants to pay a fiver then let her , but she won't be paying it to me .

People are under the misconception that just because we clean windows we are lower than low and we are on the dole and

Only do it for a bit of beer money but come on NMW is £6.19 so why should I earn less than that ?

If your happy to slog your guts out for **** money on jobs then carry on but I'm not !

I want to build a business a business that makes money !

Not just make enough to pay the bills or just enough to put the petrol in the car for a week !!

Demographics plays a part on the pricing structures yes and I'm pricing within the prices for my area

But there are people out there who just do not want to pay , if that's the case I'm not fussed I will pick up more

Who do want to pay !

well like i say id do it for £7 in my area as that would be going rate i could do 3 of them a hour so £21 compared to £6.19 is good going if you cant live comfy on that then something is a miss.

i agree with most your saying and i feel your pain as i have the same thing with landscaping but my over heads are 10 times my window cleaning overheads.

but people will always look at windys as just a guy cleaning windows and thats a fact just like a woman mopping floors same sh1t.

chill out with all the !!! too

thats fine mate you know what you can get in your area i know whats in mine there is some tight fcukers about though thing is they proberly spend that on a bottle of wine lol.

were i am i can only just get away with charging £10 for a detached.
