I would say don't give them a date, just say you'll be round one evening this week. Because there will always be some nights that the weather is just too bad to be out knocking doors for money, or maybe something personal comes up or something, that means you can keep the date.

I was talking in the context of someone who intends to completely eliminate collection by using online payments and bank transfers. I don't go to hundreds of doors each month either, I would guess I probably get about half my customers in during the day, maybe more. More often than not, I have less than a dozen customers to see each night, and thats the work done by three guys.

like i say in the year and a half of working as a fulltime window cleaner, i have never been out to collecting! and not got any debt either!

yer i just tell them from the start cash on the day or pay online or cheque, that way i know where i am and it frees my night up to do what i want, have the odd one customer that i allow to go onto the next month but i dont mind that as they always pay.

at the momment i only have 4 commercial contracts, but chaising up several others at the minute.

I always go collecting.. and it can be annoying aswell /emoticons/sad.png but its gotta be done..

i use £50.00 a week max so if i dont go over this i dont mind driving around for money...

plus if i stopped collecting i would lose 80% of my customers lol

and i am now doing a new collection scheme where i just collect money every sunday from 5-8 so... all the money that is owed to me i will pick it up every sunday from 5 till 8.... so not to bad /emoticons/smile.png
