Seem to be having a slight issue with my trolley recently- after about 10mins the flow of water just 'dies' from a steady stream to a trickle. My Varistream controller is on max flow 99, and pump seems to functioning correctly. Any advice in 'Laymans Terms' (as I'm not that technically minded!) gratefully appretiated!

Seems to just die, but pump is still working. I did wonder I'd it might be battery related (as it was fully charged, but had been unused for a week?). Is Varistream meant to flash bat if that is problem then?

mine does if flow drops, try reducing the flow to 0 then back up to 60 ish and see what happens, as could be a pressure switch or air block what happens if you leave it running for 5 mins

everyone seem to be having problems with these, glad i dont use them and use a analog dial one! never have problems with that!

i would say airlock is the first one to look at

thay would make sense- how do u cure an airlock problem mate?

when i get airlock... i run my pump on 99 /emoticons/smile.png then put it down to 20 turn it off put it back on and put it up to 99 gradually /emoticons/smile.png and it does the job /emoticons/smile.png

tried this trick- still no joy! It seems to build up pressure, vibrate a lot- then just die! Now it's not pushing any water thru. What a great start to the week!

try

disconnect any pipe to the outlet pipe and just run the water through that, then when thats running out smoothly reconnect the hose to the outlet pipe with the pipe tap turn on so it flows right through. then after a bit turn off the flow to allow to pressure up then use it,

thank you- will give it a go. After a morning of faffin about, it seems to be the pump which seems to keep intermittently turning on/off. Is this meant to happen?

only when you are not running any water and it has pressured up. then is should cut out. then start up when the flow is turned on again.
well, seems to be running slightly better- but still quite intermittently turning on/off. I want to resolve this so that ot is reliable and working correctly. Could this be pressure-switch related?

it could be, dose it still turn on off when controller is set to a low setting?
not as bad on lower setting- seems to be when adjusted to higher setting. Until now I had my flow on max 99, but now keep having to adjust lower/higher to enable continuos stream?

size pipe are you using? If it is a small bore then having the pump on high will cause the pressure to jump on and off all the time as the pressure builds up and then drops

Bleed all the air out of the system properly as sounds like you still have air in the system to me....re calc & reset dead end stop too.

Pretty sure I've worked out what the problem is(thank god!). I have a nice big kink in my pole hose- gave it a good wiggle and sure enough it blocks the flow-and the pump cuts out at high pressure! Pretty sure this is the fault(be relieved if it this simple tbh!). Any recommendations for cheapest place for replacement hose? Looking on web seems to be aprox £30, but I'm not quite sure how many metres I'd need for a 30foot pole(6mm). Any suggestions?
