I'm speechless

I don't understand what the issue is?

Another payment method reduces a custies not paying and reduces the amount you'll have to drop.

But whatever, going a bit off topic now

Window cleaning is inherently a cash business as most window cleaners will tell you but you can offer alternative online payment options.

Regarding making/collecting payments using that gizmo I would not trust as don't know that company from adam.

That's a good point about not knowing the company that makes it.

What about for jobs like Upvc, windows an guttering, where the charge is like £100 ish all in?

I normally get paid in cash or cheque. When dealing with compaines would be by bacs mostly or cheque Simples /emoticons/wink.png

CNS you might find pingit interesting if going down that road is something that you are interested in. Personally I don't think it would be a great idea. For a number of reasons;

1. Its rare that you get the customer in and they don't have cash (for me any way). I post a note when I have cleaned the windows so they know I will be poping round.

2. I will cost alot more than online payments, as the company will have to recoup the costs of these devices.

3. I don't think customers will be happy, handing their bank card to someone at their door, and will be uneasy about it.

Personally I think you could have every possible payment method known to man, and you will still have outstanding payments. Its just part of business I am afraid.

I prefer cash, as it cost nothing to process. But Cheques & Online payments are also fine, they are low cost, and most importantly, cost effective. Meaning they are cheaper options, than driving back out to the customer again to try and get paid.

What will it cost, to have a chip'n'pin device, and would that be cost effective, considering the little use for it(in my case). Also I have loads of customers who pay by cheque all the time. I also use my cheque book.

You guys jumping the gun here a bit n if I'm honest your ******* me off so I'm Gona go cool off for a bit.

Take note it wasn't me that originally posted it, I just thought it sounded like a good idea an looked into it a bit more.

Fair enough, I'm not in the best mood so proba reading it out of context.

Bk on topic..... What's wrong with good ol PayPal!

Very versatile because people can either pay you from their PayPal or they can pay by card to your PayPal so it's a really good one, plus most people have the odd bit in there PayPal account

I do understand where you are comming from as a lot of ppl pay by cards theses days for most things. Maybe in the future this type of gizmo will be the norm for most tradesmen who knows.

Maybe, I think the idea is good but you bring up a good point about know one knowing who makes it, if it was made for visa etc then I'm sure people would be more likely to use it

I have my bank details on my card which I leave when I've cleaned and they're not in. My customers are happy to pay online straight to my bank account. I do stipulate that they use their address as reference as its easier for me to cross reference with my records.
this is the same thing i do!

i use online bank or cash, only have 2 people that pay cheque and they post that at there cost! and in a over a year i have never been collecting to get money in and not in any debt with out standing payments!

people wouldnt want to use their card on your small device.... cos people are now being careful out their ... lots of fraud activity going on !

a small chip n pin device would be good for hotels etc if the job is priced over 20 quid /emoticons/smile.png

other then that its a bad idea i reckon lol
