Guys Im just glad Im not the only guy who has a free website after the roasting I took a few weeks back hahahaa

No probs dodger /emoticons/wink.png

I've a few sites on their free hosting account as I'm always messing about building/maintaining sites for myself and others as a hobby.

Does anyone have Websites?

And if so does it bring much work in as i have been told to get a nice Website, like of Vista print which is quiet cheap to run.
I have 3 websites. First 2 I bought templates from templatemonster and filled em in. Total cost about £70.00 each. Newest site I had built from scratch for £300.00. All are on 1st page of google for search terms, many search terms we are top of first page. Some search terms, we occupy the top 7 listings on page 1 of google.

When done properly, they have HUGE ROI. I get about 25-30 enquiries a month, about 90% of which I convert into jobs. Have your own, don't let companies like vista and yell build and run em for you. They are expensive and google don't rank them well. A local window cleaner paid vista to build him a site. They did by copying and pasting mine! I told them they were breaking copyright laws and the whole site was removed.

Whats your key words/search terms

The domain name you pick also helps somewhat too with seo http://www.solar-panel-cleaners.com http://www.allaroundcleaningltd.co.uk

http://www.telfordwindowcleaner.co.uk does it not steve? Then creating landing pages works well too /emoticons/wink.png

It does indeed smurf, as you seem to know. No good having a www.davesmith.co.uk site if you are a window cleaner. Who searches for Dave smith? Far more likely to search window cleaner telford and find me!!!

What ppl either don't know or ignore is that you don't have to have a domain name thats the same as your company name /emoticons/wink.png

Google rules the world. It is bigger than apple by a long chalk, or another advertising campaign that can be conjured up. Therefore, despite my being anti-monopolist, monopoly with google, who have the monopoly of the population is the key to good advertising. The more people visit your website, the more enquiries you will get. The more enquiries you get, the more jobs you will get. It is very basic maths laws with google being the law maker!!! This brings me to my latest thread.....

you can still get on #1 page - even if your domain is "DAVE SMITH" . domain name is only one part of seo - id say it improves the search results by 15 - 20 % not more .

and i really don't think is a good idea- once you r a window cleaner you should 'tell' everything in your domain name /emoticons/smile.png - apart from improving your search results - a domain name has to be easy to memorize .

I find annoying something like this www johns-solar-panel-cleaning-in-leeds.co.uk - are you sure your customers wont do a typo mistake while trying to get on your page ?

i successfully brought few website on#1 page - and even for more difficult keywords (accommodation,hotel/guesthouse) - and can firmly say - the domain is important however is not the Ace

I have a website mate. its on the first page of google for key words like window cleaner Leeds, solar panel cleaning leeds, commercial window cleaner leeds. My wife builds websites so I just gave her all my keywords and pics, she did the rest.

Brings in at least 3 new jobs a week.

I agree with all of the above, but when choosing a domain, why do yourself out of 15-20% of the seo by choosing something random? Good advertisers get in the mind of the customer, not what they want to tell about their own company.

Not saying it can't be done mate. Seo is a dark art. No one can guarantee anything on google. Their algorithms are constantly changing. But it makes sense to add some of your product into the URL. Also depends how much competition is out there with your content type.

Glad you are getting the jobs you are from your website. I am still puzzled with the age in which we live, why some businesses still function without websites.

True.. Website is def the way to go. I would not touch yell, evening post, or any other directory. Website and word of mouth are the best.

I'm currently sorting mine with a big help from dodger.

Must say I really like mine and much prefer having the domain as my company name even if it loses 20% on seo, it still makes it easier to memories, plus when I get my van, if someone sees it the are Gona google clean n simple not spelthorne window cleaner although I will have landing pages eventually for spelthorne window cleaner etc etc

That's the feed back I get... its all in a name... Squeak and Bubbles... the women love it, and it's usually them who book me in to clean there windows. A good catchy name will be remembered.

So what is your domain name mucker? is it cleannsimple.co.uk or cleannsimples.co.uk as your trading name is clean n simple?
