I always wear a builders hard hat but would fall off my head if I fell from a ladder as has no chin strap etc so going to get myself one like the ebay link instead. /emoticons/wink.png

seriously considering some safety gear. Fallen once and know the damage i done to my leg would have split my melon clean open. plus my other half knows a lady who's husband was a window cleaner, he fell and was in a coma for about 3 weeks.

Yep it happens more often than ppl think it does,...may seem a daft idea by some wearing headgear like that but at the end of the day if it can help save just one persons life that would be a good start. /emoticons/smile.png

personally i wouldnt, i think its probably a step too far, 99% of window cleaners will go there whole life without falling off a ladder, so its like saying if everyone that crossed a road was wearing a full suit of body armour, then it might help save a few that get hit, lol.

each to their own and if it makes you feel safer then great, but if someone turned up wearing a hard hat to go up and clean my windows i would laugh my ****** off and also probably be a bit worried about there ability/confidence on ladders

lol I see ya point about getting laughed at but still might get one. Maybe wrap a woollie hat over it.

For me I always wear a hard hat doing wfp work and other services I offer don't you?

The amount of times I've hit my head on washing lines, hanging baskets etc even had stuff fall from rooflines is no bodies business. Also find it helps keeps the rain off my head too so I'm not a stupid as I look am I lads?

As I come from a construction background so comes second nature to wear one. When it comes down to PPE it's upto you if you wear stuff or not but wanting just to be matcho (not look silly) is no excuse not to help protect yourself is it lads?

We all know the risks involved working from ladders and yes some do go through their working life without injury or death but there are alot more ppl that are not so lucky. Go figure

"It will never happen to me" makes you think dont it?

27 years on ladder and iv not fallen off qute from tery meran any way 4 munths after that satament ,he did and not worked agane ,99 % who havet is optamistic ,and then thers thos whos had near miss ,

I always wear a hard hat for wfp as explained in previous post then if need to use ladders etc would change to the climbing helmet. Simples /emoticons/wink.png
