Benefits Of Twin Di?

WCF

Help Support WCF:

If ppl do what you say below the water output would be upto 10 ppm not 0 ppm or did you mean have both di tanks connected to start with?

I live in a flat & twin DI is perfect. As Mark says. Run 1st till ppm 10 then add 2nd DI. When that then reaches 10 change resin in 1st DI & use that as 2nd DI. Works brilliant.

when your first di vessel hits 10ppm rather than throw the resin away you put another di vessel in front so the first one is doing all the work and the second has it easy then you change when you get to 10ppm again . it is hard to explain but it works

Guys, H MAN has already explained.....

He wrote it in BIG letters too......... just like the Janet & John books /emoticons/tongue.png ....

OK Mark,

What you are saying is that the first DI vessel you use it till it goes to say 10 ppm.

When this happens it becomes your first DI vessel and then you have a newly charged vessel as you second DI vessel after this.

So then you can totally spend all the material in your first DI vessel.

And only when the second vessel reaches to 10ppm you then make that your first DI vessel.

This way you get more out of your DI vessels.

Is this what you mean Mark?

Just go and buy an ro filter or at least put a carbon block in the hose pipe by the mains tap..

This is getting silly lol

You need to work backwards starting from the size of tank you want to fill. Will it be static tank or will you be filling your tank in your van.

Don't go out an buy the cheapest as you will regret it later in life and end up buying another one that suits your needs.

Then work out how many hours you will able to to fill your tank and how many litres an hour you want from your r/o.

1 US Gallon is roughly 3.78 litres , to allow for drop in performance due to your tap pressure I'd work with around 3.50 litres.

So couple of examples:-

1) 500 litre static tank you want to produce this over 24 hrs I'd go for 200 gpd r/o..

2) 400 litre tank in back of van but you want to fill it in 4/5 hours i'd go for a 4040 ro.

Hope this helps.

I've a 200 gpd which gives me around 250l per 24 hours with tap pressure at 35 psi, which is plenty for me using 600-1000 ltr per week, sounds tight but having all weekend to build up the bank in the ibc, it's comfy. Usually ave the water running overnight only at this time of year rather than in the day in case there's an unexpected frost that could crack the membranes!
