Yeah I got ya mate, my thinking is this and I could be wrong as I often am lol. People are outside their house look at the windows and think god I need a window cleaner, they then go about their business and just forget about it for a while but if they have an iphone or similar handy in their pocket chances are they'll get it out and google window cleaners there and then.

If your site is top of page one but not particularly readable theres a big chance they're going to click the back button and try #2, it's rule #2 for me in web design - good navigation and clear information.

Ya might be right mate and it's just coincidence but every little helps according to tesco.

Google keyword density checker tool is dead handy and is easy to use.

If the site is brand new, set up an Adwords account. Ok, you pay for each click, but my window cleaning campaigns are only about 40p per click. The advantage of this is that you get instant page 1 exposure and instant traffic which is important for new sites. As well as the bots and algorithms, google is very business minded. It does look after those websites who spend a little money with them. If you have an Adwords campaign, google will add a small boost to your organic listing too. When your organic is on page 1, cancel or pause your Adwords.

Include your main keyword, e.g. Solar panel cleaner uk, in your first paragraph on the homepage.

These are a few basic but effective tips. Hope it helps someone. Let me know what you think.

You need to add your keywords to the TITLE tag and add some more wording to the home page. Work on one page at a time.

It can take six weeks for Google to relook at a website and if the changes are minimal, they won't index them again for a while.
