Does anyone else get this feeling....

Whereby your in bed, and at that stage where you have your eyes closed half sleep(can hear stuff going on tho like outside etc) but not fully asleep.

and you get that falling sensation from climbing ladders all day??

I get it most nites, sometimes I either jump out of bed, or force myself to wake up to make sure its not happening for real....!!!!!

wierd sensations!!!

I have had the same thing before, not any more, but I did used to suddenly gitter or jolt, and wake myself, just before going to sleep. If its something that is troubling you. I have one solution.

Go rock climbing. Once you've been up 60 feet on a harness, and come off, it wont trouble you any more. Its not to say that there isn't an inherent risk when working on a ladder, but you will soon find faith in your climbing ability. Once you've got over a hard route, a dozen times. It will make climbing a ladder seem like kids play.

Basically face your fear.

Never had that G but just climbing the ladder in itself was me facing my fears, hasn't got me over my fear of heights totally but ladder heights don't bother me in the slightest anymore. Still won't go up Blackpool tower though lol.

Wierd that others have felt it though.

I hear a rattling noise when I'm in bed. Usually it's someone trying to lift my ladders away. Never happened yet mind, but that's my fear. Always paddlocked though /emoticons/wink.png

Yeah im with u on this g, had that falling feeling last night actually, as long as it happens when im in bed and not actually up a ladder i,ll be fine! Lol

Last 2 posts tickled me! /emoticons/smile.png guess that's why your a h&s guy smurf!

Didn't realise the thread was about w/c anxieties, in which case I've not had it, just the standard feel like I'm falling sensation. Although I did once dream all night I'd been at work, and had to take the day off to recover, but it was this time of year!

Yep back then h&s seemed none existent and ppl got hurt/killed onsite far too often & some ppl using ladders sadly still do.

Sweet dreams /emoticons/biggrin.png

That sensation is your heart missing a bit, everyone has it but they relate it to different dreams, Becuase you work with ladders you relate it to that.

I had it one night after doing a really dodgy job cleaning the inside of a swimming pool roof, the ladder fell a couple of times (not with me on it). My brother who was working with me said he had the same feeling.

Yep that would do it as obviously was a high risk job playing on your minds as either one of you could have got hurt.

I think it is to with anxiety, you feel you are sliding down the bed. The brain is going over the stuff you done the day and part of your body safety mechanism. Any dangers your mind perceives on a sub conscience level, it will fade with time as you will gradually think the danger of falling is less likely.

I hate dreams about work at I feel cheated, wish customers had dreams that I'd cleaned the windows and wake up and pay me /emoticons/ph34r.png

I don't get it from ladder work but I do a fair bit of rock climbing and after doing a big exposed climb I always have it that night and maybe a few nights after.
