What Gear Have You Got

WCF

Help Support WCF:

these come with turbo nozzle with package, ive emailed about hose wire, and nozzle, i wont rush into it, what do you class as lock block

Block paving mate! the whirlaway dont shift some deep rooted weeds and mosses, fine on dirt though but i use turbo nozzle and resand the block paving first dry day after powerwashing, much better job that way imo

are you best using customers tap, or if outside tap will the pressure be low, or are you best with a water butt to let pressure washer suck from that. id only have a trailer for now. probably a big wheely bin and very long hosepipe to transfer water to washer or butt. contacted genpower about hose its heavy duty, lance is 2 sectioned, they said had no problems or complaints.

Anything above 8 lpm pump you need to suck from a container of some sort as the demand for the pressure washer would be too high just conecting it to an outside tap so you will not get full pressure to work with. Simples.... /emoticons/wink.png

Rather than lugging a wheelie bin about I use a 75 ltr gorilla tub for my 15 lpm portable pressure washer anything higher than that you will need a much larger buffer tank as will soon catch up or keep stopping to wait for the tub to refill /emoticons/smile.png

If you want to clean say a driveway without access to an outside tap with a 15 lpm pressure washer then you should know that a 1000 ibc or bowser on a trailer will only last about an hour cleaning time.

Yes as just use cutomers outside tap with the water running into the tub as a buffer tank,...mind you the cheaper ones tend to split after a while so always carry a spare and gaffer tape if the split is not very big /emoticons/wink.png

So what is the most important question to ask?

this is a must to know, thanks smurf, i dont have a van set up, just get a trailer and transport to job, would it be really pointless getting anything higher than 15 lpm for myself without a van setup with water container, the bigger version i was thinking of 18lpm 4000psi, this may be too big for me, i thought if i get a high spec one i wouldnt have to upgrade if it takes off. this is a big decision.

the EPW400 from genpower website may be too big for me. 14hp 18lpm 4000psi, 2 year waranty, i may be best looking at smaller washer, maybe the EPW300 will be better

hi swas the epw 300 would be very slow and underpowered for stubborn dirt ,if you can afford the epw 400 its the one you want for commercial work it would make your money back in half the time ,when i bought my first washer it was a similar spec to the epw 300 and it was a big mistake , im now using a 21lpm 3600 psi loncin and you can do jobs in half the time

what would be the best way of feeding washer with water without a giant water tank as you would have in a van,, would i be able to use a 210 litre drum filled water, with hosepipe feeding water into drum from tap while wotking, my problem is i alwasy get thing too big then worry how to use the items.

I have two different tanks i use , in poor water pressure areas i use my 1000 l ibc tank on my trailer and have the customers tap keeping it topped up, by time its getting low you need a cuppa anyway, in good water pressure areas i use a 500 litre bowser as a buffer tank, customers taps always keep it full,

id get the high spec one mate , honestly its worth it in my humble opinion.

what trailer do you use donny, do you put all gear on trailer to transport to job, do you have a car or van. i know 1000 litre ibc tank goes for around £55 on line. its a case of transportation..

do you have no pics donny of setup for p .washing if i know i can get away using this spec washer with water supply issue it will put my mind at rest

I'll get my camera out mate and put some pics up, i have an Ifor williams double axle trailer, and transport my powerwasher and hoses and tank toi job in that , before i did though i used to use a 200 litre drum and transport everything in my Primastar van too job, my 15lpm pump hardly ever drained that tank too empty and if you get a job with poor mains pressure just accept its gonna take longer, have a cuppa while tank tops up again, i usually travel with the ibc half full or if im using the 500 litre tank its always empty as by time you set up gear that tankm it far off full at job anyway,

Mains pressure up here is generally good , i believe its 13lpm up here, try find out from your water authority what it is with you:)

If you don't have experience then you will find a 21 lpm pressure washer will be a beast to handle and you will probably do more damage than good to start with. Would advise maybe you try one out first to see how you get on with it before you buy one.

thanks 4 help and advice, i know people say buy honda washers etc, but with a 2 tear waranty its a peace of mind, if every one bought honda pressure washers no other companys would survive. any faults you cant fix you pay courier pck up, they send back, peace of mind. im sure a 210litre but would be ok filled up and continuous filling via customers tap will be sufficient. like you say work quick have a break. start again. its all experience. i dont fancy paying £100 ssss of pounds to go on a one day course with seal tight etc, spina clean, surely you cant pick up much experience in one day for the prices they charge. i know lots of people go on these one day courses, surely they could make them longer.
