Guys, those of you who use the wfp method only, how many of you go out and clean windows when its -1 to -4, knowing the water will freeze on the floor?

Do you go out and clean the windows, or like me wait until the temp rises a bit to like 1c... (and I know time is money).

Its cold this morning don't know exact temperature but hoses in van and pump frozen /emoticons/sad.png but if I can't get it working I'll be going out with my trolley..

Oh the joys of winter,...just wondering how window cleaners cope in colder climates?

I've just been out and done one side of a first clean then packed up as it's just not worth it. I'm now looking for a cheap way to heat the water.

Use your house hot water to fill the van tank and a simple di setup maybe?

It's not always about the van freezing up, (even though we rather it hadn't) its the water turning to ice on the floor after we have cleaned customer windows. We have this all week and going to get colder through the night as the week goes on... I really hope this cold snap is all we get...having this now through to Feb no good for man or beast.

I'm near Glasgow, been -6 all morning!!!

Stuff was fine as I bought it in the house, but in the 20 mins it took me to drive to my work, it all froze again!

Have come home now and have an oil radiator in van, hoping to defrost then head back out soon. It's now -2- that's warm for us!! lol

Looks mint but a bit much for me at £899 /emoticons/ohmy.png
Looks good, but like you stated a lot of $$$$.

I suppose the way to look at it is this: Frozen system lost days with no work. 9 lost days (even though it's more than that) throughout the winter year (lost revenue of £100 per day) = £900. So buying the system in the long run will be beneficial.

I was thinking of filling my big green garden bucket (you know the rubbery type) with some rocksalt from the yellow bins by the side of the road and throw some down by customers doors etc when I'm done.

It's a good idea, the problem is, if they slip and hurt themselves on what you have put down, they are eligible for a claim! It's like damned if you do and damned if you don't. I have a lot of elderly ones, I would hate to get a call from there son etc to say they mum or dad has slipped and broken a bone or even died (extreme I know).

No matter what you do in the end you can't beat mother nature I'm affraid using wfp method,...freezing runoff water on the ground is another big issue.

I would say trad work wins hands down in freezing winter months as you can work in much lower temps like this nutter.

yes its slow today, I just bought a 300w fishtank heater from ebay for £10. I dont need it yet since its not that cold in london but when I know its going to get cold I am going to stick it in my 400L overnight to heat up the water.
