I know whats about but you did not answer my simple 2nd question swas

2. what is your max budget you have available to spend on kit?

If you can afford it get a 30 meter length of 2 wire hose, i take a 15m and a 30 m too every job and use the one that means i dont need too move the washer also i have both washers set up so that i can attach from customers outside tap straight to the pump and not use a barrel if i dont have too, some areas here have real good mains pressure and i dont need the barrel at aw,youll soon know if you need a barrel as the pump will cavitate as in the pressure will rise and fall as it draws air, in my opinion dont bother buying a fsc, ive used mine 3 or 4 times , dont rate em , buy a good turbo nozzle, does a far better job if you ask me. Northers Star sell a Honda 13hp with everything you need and a 12lpm Comet pump, it was the first one i bought and did 95% of jobs without a barrel, the pump lasted 3 years and i changed it for a Cat pump, learnt my trade on that one though and did a lot of work before it expired , the engine still going strong /emoticons/smile.png

It will prolong the life of your pressure washer.

the table to show how to check tap pressure was from genpower, just to give you an idea if the tap pressure is faster than the lpm on washer it should be ok direct to washer. all my searching ive not come across Northers star. ill look now

gaffer, do you have to stop and start when feeding from a water drum, how big a water butt do you use, or does the tap water keep the drum topped up while you are cleaning.

when i get my gear i will youtube me using a 210 litre water drum with hosepipe going in it showing how much water levels go up or down.

gaffer' date=' do you have to stop and start when feeding from a water drum, how big a water butt do you use, or does the tap water keep the drum topped up while you are cleaning.[/quote']The water drum stays topped up mate, I use a 22 litre only because its small. I very rarely have to stop only if im going crazy with it lol. When it does stop its not for long.

I was told this was the best way to do it as there less stress on the washer and when your paying all that money you really want to make sure it lasts as long as possible.

what lpm is your washer gaffer, i had visions of stoping and starting using a water drum with a 15+ lpm washer ive been told. if thats the case i will have no worrys if it dosent empty the water source. puts my mind at rest. i have just looked just looked gaffer yours is a 15lpm 3000+psi. is that a 22litre or 220 litre water drum gaffer

It really depends what the waters pressures like I think? Its never been a problem for me though.

my first washer only pumped 12lpm and sometimes the direct tap feed couldnt keep it going ,barrel fed is the way to go imo,

Description

The EPW4000GB is one of the best petrol pressure washers on sale in the UK today. It is capable of delivering 3900psi at a flow rate of 18l/min.

It features a heavy duty 14hp OHV Loncin engine driving a triplex geardrive pump.. The triple drive pump reduces the operating speed of the pump increasing it's service life and also greatly reducing torque stress on the engine. This pressure washer is the most powerful model we sell at just under 4000psi it can take on the dirtiest of cleaning jobs. Running solely from it's petrol engine unlike an electric pressure washer there is no danger of electrocution from cables and extension leads. This machine is just as at home working on a farm, construction site or hauliers as it is cleaning your ca. driveway or patio.

Overview

600 liters per hour

Triplex pump with brass head and ceramic coated pistons

watch for the hondas on ebat, there a lot of fakes floating about on there

This is what I got from ebay 14hp Loncin 3600 psi 15 lpm pressure washer inc 20m hose, turbo & dirt devil fsc all as new only 3 months old at the time for £400 so saved myself about £540 if I had got that lot new. /emoticons/smile.png

If I don't use a gorilla tube (buffer tank) and connect it directly to an outside tap instead the pump can't reach full pressure as gets starved of water so it's a no brainer for me to use a gorilla tub on every job. Simples....

good old ebay ,bargain of the year smurf, good tip on the fake hondas mark .i nearly sure there is a video on youtube telling how to spot a fake honda swas , il try and find it later.

you got a bargain smurf, i will bide my time over the next couple of months, and check ebay and gumtree.

how would you tell if a power washer is not a honda engine if it is a fake . do they just fit a honda cover on washer , ie gx240 gx340 . is there a way of checking if it is a genuine honda washer from new.

smurf can you get a link for the price for your fsc it seems a lot to pay £300+ for one that you may not use , but they look more proffesional even just for the customer to see. it would give a little more faith in you doing the job. even though you will only use the turbo nozzle just looked on jetmac theres a honda GX200 only 3000psi i know from advice i will need 3600psi 15 lpm. ive emailed for a deal.

That honda gx360 is the better spec of the two so have a stab at it if you like but will probably go for a lot more than you think. /emoticons/wink.png

Don't worry about a fsc for now as they are ****,...I have 3 sat in the garage that I hardly ever use now as a turbo does a much better job.
