I'll air my Grievensus first! I bought it and chose the gooseneck as it had a tenner off if you bought at the time, but I didn't realise, and think the website isn't clear enough, that in doing so you forfeit the Standard resi which I needed to be able to hook up my screw based swivel neck, hence couldn't rig it up to my new brush, even with the gooseneck as the stock threads are differently placed ( I don't know who's to blame for that, all manufacturers should use the same spec IMO ) so only way I could use it was to rig up the old brush to it. Back to the resi neck debacle, if I'd realised that I'd lose it buy getting the gooseneck, I wouldn't have bothered as I'd only have saved a fiver,I'd have waited a few month to get one, or more likely have got a cheap alloy one for how often I'll use it, but the fact that it says the resi is included foc to me says you'll get it full stop. The instructions themselves read, I quote, "if you have purchased an slx or supermax you have the option to use the quick release resi neck supplied as standard or the super lite quick release carbon gooseneck assembly". That reads to me that the resi comes anyway, but can use a gooseneck if you like, it's certainly ambiguous. I mean, you get a pen and hat with it which must cost the same as a resi! The hats ok, but I don't wear baseball caps cos rappers have ruined that scene! So, anyone who's buying an slx, just beware of that, you don't save a tenner, it's a fiver, in my case less than 3 quid cos I've had to buy one and with vat and pnp it 7 quid odd. To add a bit more weight to my arguement ( for want of a better word, im not after an arguement!) theres the option to have different pole hose choices, i think most of them are free, but if you choose no hose, nothing gets knocked off! I'm not a gardiner brasher, I've spent hundreds there and will continue to do so, but IMO it something Alex needs to tweak and make clearer! Oh, and btw Alex, after you use checkout, there's a bit in your t&c or something that says vat is at 17.5%!

Anyway, the pole. I was concerned before I got it that having spent 400 notes that I'd be frightened to death of breaking it, but it's very sturdy, and for a 30 footer, light. You still know about it going over lids, but infinitely preferable to alloy! Clamps are good, easy to use. Top noth pole that so far seems to be all that I've heard it is, whether it's worth 400 quid will be decided upon in time! As I expect a brush to last 6 months min and that's what does the work I would expect that the thing that holds it ought to last years. If I get 4 I'll be happy,5 very and so on!

Oh, how on earth do you take the sections out? There's a stopper in there but I want to lose a section 95% of the time, make it lighter still. Very nice bit of kit /emoticons/smile.png

To remove the sections mate it's a bit of a pain. Loosen clamp screw and get a wide bladed screwdriver prise open clamp and pull section out. Good for stopping when extending but a pain if u wanna take section out quick. As for the brush u got a dual trim?

Hi Chip
My apologies if our website selection is not clear enough. We do try and offer as many options as possible and we try to make these options clear. The fact that choosing a carbon gooseneck instead of the Resi-Neck saves you £10 at the checkout is because of the saved cost of the resi-neck and the brush socket which comes to just under £10. I will try and think how I can make this clearer for future users.

If you want to remove a section then this video shows you how -

Users who regularly want to remove sections tend to also remove the joint stop tape so that the section can simply be slid in and out.

Thank you for the VAT information - I will take a look and see which part of the software this is hiding in!

What a great read /emoticons/biggrin.png i hope you enjoy your pole

I will mark! Thanks matt, thanks Alex. Can't watch the vid yet as the nets going slow but will do. I would have messaged you but wasn't sure you was about at the mo, haven't seen your name around for a few weeks and thought it was worth letting others who might be ordering know that, ESP if not getting a brush too, they might not be able to just plug and play so to speak! I still recommend the pole even though I've only had it 2 days, in fact already have to someone on here the same night I got it. I think just removing the word (inc) and a slight alteration on the instructions would probably do it. Anyway, thanks again for the pole I look forward to many happy years with it /emoticons/smile.png

The resi neck came this morn, a standard, I meant to get a swivel! But, I can thread my swivel into it, which more or less makes it a gooseneck! Question is, am I ok to use to resis screwed together or will it bust? And don't just say no to make me feel better about buying a gooseneck /emoticons/smile.png what's done is done, I don't want to have to spend another tenner on a push fit swivel /emoticons/smile.png

Terrific! I see what the fuss is about, I was worried with it being light that it'd be delicate, but it's not, very sturdy. Dont get me wrong, you know your holding it, esp above a conny lid, though i could lose at least one section for 99% of my stuff and it would be the heaviest section, but really, i can handle the full 30 feet worth all day. Wish I'd bought it sooner, but kept getting put back with other things needing purchase, ie new membranes and hose etc. only aspect I can't recommend it on is longevity which I won't know till its had it, but can't really see it failing to last a good few years, maybe some clamps will need replacing but don't think the're dear and may last anyway.

Oh, and having a quick fit resi screwed to a swivel seems to work fine! No obvious signs of weakening, and basically is as long as a gooseneck at half the price with the ability to angle adjust and swivel! /emoticons/smile.png

But I would like to know if anyone knows if it is likely to go snap!

It snapped on me, and had to replace it. One of the clamps bust, but that was my fault, as I got told it's a fault if you tighten and then try to press all the way down. I purchased a few as spares. No other issues with the pole.

Wait until you use the extremes. The are worth every penny and more!
cool! Gardiner defo do some great products.
My shoulder pain stopped within a week of using the extreme. Then neck pain about month later.

I really did some damage to my neck when I first started. For 6 months I was using a 16ft pole to clean windows. I was almost under the window looking up. What a tool I was!!!
