Secret Guttering

surely with your ankalad stabiliser and microlite standoff that roof could be safely accessible by ladder, /emoticons/wink.png

No chance would I use a ladder at that height (approx 30ft),... Also the ground slopes away /emoticons/biggrin.png

with the standoff hooked on to the parapeit wall its virtually impossible for the ladder to kick , ah well smurf it will be a cherrypicker or scissorlift at a premium price /emoticons/biggrin.png

Nope,... think will use me guttervac instead & if that doesn't work cut a section out of the downpipe at the bottom and try jetting it out. Needless to say make good after. Still going to cost a bit even for doing that as also will be including cleaning the algae on ground floor painted wall too at the customers request. Any issues found below ground will be at extra cost. /emoticons/wink.png

What would you lads charge?

To be honest A cherry picker probably would not be a safe option as there a 6 manhole covers and two drain covers in the area of the road that would need the cherry picker to be setup. Also there is a small tree that might get in the way.

its funny that you would never ever use a ladder at 30ft, when you can get ladders that extend to 30ft, why would they make them?lol

i would set a ladder up, climb up, unblock the hopper, and push a downpipe brush down the downpipe, then id climb down the ladder, collect my money and get on with the rest of my jobs.

your completely over complicating things, and yes i know that in order to do it 'properly' and comply with h&s etc etc you would need cherry picker/sissorlift/guttervac etc but whatever, thats how id do it, and id be safe and id be able to price fairly, doing it your way your gonna have to charge alot just to unblock someones gutters! how much you charging?

GM stop hating the H&S

id do it just as you would too.

smurf what did you pay for you gutter vac?wouldnt mind one for gutters were connys are under

Personal choice mucker,.... If you want to use ladders at that height then carry on.

I hate H&S too belive it or not but I know what it feels like falling from that height. I had no problem falling but the sudden stop at the end was a bit of a bummer /emoticons/biggrin.png

Paid £1500 for me first 4200 trple motor guttervac with 52 foot reach pole set from omnipole not including any camera kit. Since then when they wear out I just replace the vac as use me old poles etc that came with it.

Maybe best shop around as now others sell guttervac kit.

yeah will have a gander only want one for normal domestic houses.

Hope he doesn't want them back then as I've just posted them onto you.

Trouble is that once you have a guttervac you will always get asked to do **** awkward jobs /emoticons/biggrin.png

very sad

Anyhow getting back to this boring post of mine what would you charge using your new guttervac to clear that gutter hopper out?

So would you bother to do a water test aswell to make sure the drainpipe works properly afterwards?

£50' date=' and id be done and on my way in 30mins/1hr[/quote']
