derek im sticking on the windows me mate dont plan to ever go on wheelie bin cleaning not my thing... /emoticons/tongue.png lol and derek yeah show me the flyers /emoticons/smile.png

I follow the bin men round and do my customers that day' date=' ( as they have empty bins lol) i stick a plastic bag liner in the residual bin and a paper one in the organic bin ( extra £1) if they want it, ( most do) my current average is 70 bins per day ( some rounds have less some more obviously) if i finish bins early ill do gutter cleaning, powerwashing etc , as all houses up here have 4 bins it aint that many houses per day, most want 2 bins cleaned and do them once a month, its easy money really, once you get first clean outa the way the bins are a piece o pish, and the liner keeps em clean, in the summer i can average 80 bins a day, i dont do bins every day of the month either i have one week clear for powerwashing/sealing etc, most bins ive managed in a day was 102,[/quote']so u just got 70 bins to clean a month ?

how do u know where the binmen start from ?

it looks like it would be very confusing

plz explain what am missing lol /emoticons/tongue.png/emoticons/smile.png

id do it its a fair slice of coin that even just 1 or 2 days a month so what its a bit dirty but who cares its graft.

i could do it easy my bro inlaw works for the bins i could follow his round i supose.

and 70 bins at £3 each is £210!!good days wages that in my eyes

No H i average 70 bins per day, depends on the area , some days ill do 50 some days 90 etc. im fully booked on bins for 3 weeks of each month, i have a round list supplied from the council but dont need it anymore , , before i started the business i spent 3 weeks following the binmen and stapling a flyer to the bins , they start from same house or area on there rounds every day,and always follow the same route you soon get too know it, its second nature after a while, it aint dirty job either, the liners mean the bins are mostly spotless, its good money and all you need is water ( not purified) and disinfectant, /emoticons/smile.png simples

900 ( up and down slightly every month) domestic regulars and about 150 of the larger commercial bins every month, goes up slightly in the summer /emoticons/smile.png

so 1050 bins every month on average, i have 1 employee as we do a fair bit of powerwashing and sealing as well

thats very good that mate ! so when the bin men empty these bins... your cleaning them.. how long does it take u ? do u always keep up with the binmen ? lol

With the regular customers i probably take about 4 minutes per bin , a first wash can take 10 minutes, i dont normally keep up wi em but at certain points in the day you catch up, i dont leave hoose till 9:30 ish so they are well ahead and bins are ready for cleaning

well ' date=' when i set up my wheelie bin business i used local press ad, local radio and flyers and door knocking when out and about and it worked a treat so im doing em all again when my window cleaning licence arrives ( if ever) lol from local council, with the cost of ink for my printer i reckon 5k flyers for zaround £70 will work out cheaper lol ( if i can get em for that ill be happy bunny[/quote']You can start now, as long as the paper work has been sent away your good to go

Is that true ? Glasgow city council say you cant work until its approved ?
I got the go a head from Fife Council, im sure it states other wise on Fife Councils website but when I contacted the licencing team they said it would be fine. I had to do it with an employee as well.
Even if it never came the chance of getting caught are low and the repercussions of getting caught without one are less than a slap on the rist. Even less if you tell them the paper works has been sent away I would presume. Only time you will get caught is if you are reported and Ive only seen 2 people here been charged with not having a licence I presume they got caught on more than 1 occasion

Funnily enough i had an email sent through yesterday on this subject from my local council stating i can start anytime and dont need to wait for licencing commitee /emoticons/smile.png so happy bunny

You were getting a discount if you mentioned this site, not sure now

i get 5000 leaflets from vista for 69 quid inc free delivery and thats just 1 sided but good quality /emoticons/smile.png
Yep, still get discount at WeLoveFlyers if you email a link to your VIP profile to prove you're a member.

My standard price is 5000 x A5 single-sided flyers for £74 including delivery - so with the 10% discount, that's £66.60 - beats Vistaprint's £69, no??

I've done quite a few for window cleaners and most of them agree:

  • Not too much text
  • Make the name and phone number the most prominent things
  • Double-sided gives you twice the chance of being spotted if it falls face down on top of a pile of other post
  • Bullet points to list any other services you offer - you never know who might pick it up, even if they don't want the window cleaning!

I have to confess though, when I was cleaning windows I never actually used flyers, I just went out with a notepad knocking doors, kept a record of anyone who wasn't in and went back to try them again another day so I could speak to everyone personally. But a lot of my mates who are still window cleaners use flyers and they all do what I've said.

One guy said he had more success when he included his own name and landline number - not just a business name and mobile number - according to him, customers know you're not a gypsy who's going to clean them once and then disappear without a trace. When they know your name and landline they feel like they can trust you a bit more because you've got nothing to hide.
