How did we get to phone boxes, I thought when u lot started saying boxes you meant caravans cos they are boxes lol
So sorry how much would everyone charge for a caravan ??
i brought it up as it was mentioned in another topic about not doing phone boxes for £30 but doing caravans for £25??go figure is all im going to say
if i was on me own doing it would charge £30 a van.

I would charge, for a van, my hourly rate. Based on how big the van was so a little one that won't take an hour £35ish, big static ones would be 1.5-2hrs so I'd do that at £30 ph

Telephone boxes - maybe £25-30

Best advice I can give is if anyone thinking of offering a caravan detailing service is to do a lot of background research first and also maybe phone around to see what other local companies charge to clean private motor homes & caravans.

Regarding commercial contracts on holiday caravan sites as mark has already kindly said is a very compedative market to crack.

Many thanks mark for the info & vid,...top man

Hi was looking for some help i clean caravans on a site when they sell them new and 2nd and the sales person ask if i clean the outside i said no cos dont have the tools but told him i will next year ( starting in march) i did buy a pressure washer but ive been told it will be to powerful. was was hoping if you could show me a window brush setup please with a tank in back of van. would i need all them things you have on the outside of the tank are they to make sure the water is right for cleaning.

i own 3 vans plus clean about 16 plus the ones the site sells and ive got people asking for there vans to be cleaned on the outside ready for the new season.

thanks steven

was thinking of keeping the pressuse washer to do there drives and path around the van . van plus drive/path £35

You could get a trolley wfp system, or even get a 7l pump sprayer, cover the caravan in virosol, then using a wfp bruch plugged into there water supply to clean up?

Or even by a brush head, attach it to a Harris, wind a hose round it to the head and you have yourself a DIY wfp brush which would be ok for this sort of thing lol

if you going to buy a brush just for caravan cleaning you could not go far wrong with a vikan brush you dont want to buy a expensive pole as they take a lot of beating try making one like i did in the video or get some secondhand ones on e-bay .I use the my pressure washer often when i clean the caravans for things like there storage sheds and there plastic decking

cleaning the caravans is fine with just normal tap water, which most caravans will have an outside tap underneath..

im also not 100% on using virosol on a caravan, as i used it on my van and it dulled the paint.. i would suggest maybe some kind of car shampoo etc??

You don't need to go to the expense of pure water to valet caravans.

Simple garden hose, tap water and an extending brush will do, also a 'Tilers Grouting Sponge' is much better than a normal bath/car type sponge.

If you do use a pressure washer on the caravan, be very carefull around window seals and all sealed panel/bodywork joins.

The paint on caravans is also very thin, much-much thinner than on cars....

That's something to remember 'bigtime'.....if your thinking about polishing the paintwork using a Polisher/DA6pro etc.

Most products used for car valeting can be used for caravans.....AutoGlym, Turtle Wax etc...

If using a TFR (Traffic Film Remover) or any comercial strength cleaner, make sure you use the correct dilution ratios.

Caravaners are a funny lot and like you to use something that they know-of, which is related to the valeting of their caravan.

I have used my AutoGlym or my Bilt Hamber products (depending on price of job /emoticons/wink.png ) but usualy Fenwicks products will do the job nicely /emoticons/smile.png .

Fenwicks Caravan Cleaner and Bobby Dazzler (love that name  ) are great....

Make sure you inspect the panels for damage/dents and the inside for any signs of dampness (smell) before you quote/start the job.

And don't forget about insurance. Same as anything...if they can blame'n'claim against you....they will

If your going to do a proper job of valeting caravans (wich includes the roof) you need to charge that ^ as a minimum.

Don't sell yourself cheap, like I said, caravaners are a funny lot....get their caravan all nice clean and shiney and they'll love you for it....'it's their pride and joy' /emoticons/wink.png .

Pressure washing their drives and paths would be an extra.

hi i pick up a vikan brush with a pole a few weeks ago but not one where the water comes out of the end. plus pick up some muc off caravan cleaner.

a lot of the caravans dont have taps outside so getting a 150-250lts tank for the van. what sort of hose, pump would be best to get

Can you not exchange the brush and pole for one that is water fed...you'll find it much easier/quicker.

What van have you got?

Always best to get the biggest tank that your van weight limit can legally carry. 1ltr of water = 1kg plus weight of tank/frame etc.

not got one at the min getting one in march the new tax year but thinking of getting a vauxhall vivaro lwb. no need to exchange only cos like £30. will be filling the tank on site and then emptying it when coming home.

will need a lot of room for bedding and cleaning items for when we are cleaning the caravans.

would it be best to buy one of them start up packs of ebay for window cleaning i've got about £1,000 - £1,500 to buy the setup plus £4.5k on a van. was trying to buy one of ebay but need a van with 6 seats for the kids.

you are correct mate i made the mistake and got away with it when i first started you need to dilute it correctly and most important do not allow to dry

Hi people i've been talking to the wife and we have both said that buying the van can wait to see how the cleaning the outside of the caravan go for the 1st year.so it will have to fit in a 7 seater car. the plan is to buy the kit and leave it in the shed on site and get it out when people want it doing. but i dont have a clue what setup to buy dont know how it all works so was seeing if you could show me/tell me what to buy. there are no taps outside the vans so will need a tank. do i use a pressure washer if so whats the best one. are a water fed pole if so what do i need how do i get the water from tank to the pole. i'm hoping when im cleaning the outside the kids will be at school cos we go on site in the week when the site sells a caravan to clean the inside and hoping this year the outside. thanks

have you checked my video out most of the things you need to know are explained in my video . I am sure there is water somewhere on the campsite for you to connect to .A few times i am a long way from the a outside tap but all the plumbing and a little know how and you can connect to the supply under the caravan
