oh god : ) looks like a nightmare getting some new customers . I havent got a single customer from ads in the shop windows , nothing from featured ads on gumtree , Leafleting was quite annoying for me - as did that for the first time - again no new work . Didnt do any door-knocks - probably I should try .

However when I had a look on google maps - there are at least 15 cleaners in a 7 miles radius .... I think the best is to buy a round ...

I reckon you could double that figure maybe even treble it .

What happened to the unwritten rule ???

Has loyalty amongst us gone completely out of the window ? If people are surprised that they aren't picking up any new work does the penny not drop and realise that it's all been taken. I want work I go and buy it, not go round under pricing some poor sod cos I've decided I like the idea of window cleaning this week !!!

well sod it i hope they can beat 4 quid a pop then for a 3 bedroom house
You do that and you will be making a rod for your own back .

It will take you yrs to raise the prices to a realistic level and you will be a busy fool .

dont undercut you will get sick of doing jobs cheap and you will be forever chasing your own shadow,i aim for £100 a day doing anywork set realastic goals half these guys will jack it in and get back into some company employment, give it a few months leaflet it again,i fell lucky on one area as the fella who had most the streets died poor sod but like i say its just about been in the rite place rite time.

I want to earn at least 650 quid or more, this is what I earn from my last job part time at the local council, if I get this and more, then am more then happy

£650 part time???

what was you doing renting yer sen out lol.

anywere between £300 and £500 is good going half the jobs about are only min wage.

it doesnt matter how many windys are in an area, i live in a built up part of essex, i canvassed a council estate that i know has at least 4 windys, its probably more like 6/7 windys but iv seen 4, i canvassed, didnt undercut and picked up 108 customers just on that estate! what im saying is just because someone is working there already, doesnt mean they have the area sewn up. maybe theyve never canvassed around there existing customers, maybe they look dodgy so lots of potential custys didnt want them, but still want a window cleaner. if i had decided, 'oh theres already a windy or 2 here, il find another street', then i would have missed out on the best part of my round, 80 close and compact terraced council houses and 28 close and compact bungalows! get out and canvas where-ever you want, no-one owns an area

Every No you get is 1 step closer to a yes, get your down don't worry about it, if the window work isnt coming in front end gutters. I find many cleaners are not interested in this and at least your not out all day for free.

ive been going just over a month and a half and i only have about 10-12 customers but im happy with that in the time ive been going as its over a £100 monthly work and if i just keep plodding on every day it will get better and i have to say ive got one or two from the neighbours whove seen me doing the windows and i got work that way without even posting flyers on that street yet, ive got about 4500 flyers to go and once theyre gone im gonna start knocking doors then as i feel quite confident now and also proud of my work and starting to feel like a professional now with all the unger gear etc!

gutters is a good point as ive had a nearly a £100 of gutter cleans too this month but more than that ive got the cleans out of them too so its a foot in the door wiith the customer so to speak as they might trust you more when theyve allowed you to do the gutters!

exactly im just aiming to get one new customer a week and im achieving above that so im just looking to see where im at in a years time then i'll worry, its hard living on peanuts at the moment but im just looking long term!

i went out to do a few cleans a few days ago and it was nice going out at 9 and done for 12 having earnt £50,now i just keep dreaming of the day when im doing that everyday and then making even more money.

for now though its post post post and seen to knock when all the flyers have gone out but as somone else said dont get disheartened by the other windies you see, i have about 6-7 in my area and alot of the people i speak to seem to have a cleaner already but ive had one or two of these so called sewn up estates!
