What Is Traditional Window Cleaning?

WCF

he wasnt arguing, he was giving his opinion, and i second his opinion, anyone that uses mf pads/internal cleaning kits are laughable, you want to be a window cleaner but cant learn how to use the standard tools for the job, internal kits are for hard to reach windows, not every window, as ady said, pick up a blade and practise for a few days, i know people will disagree with this next bit......
IF YOU CANT USE A MOP AND BLADE YOUR NOT A REAL WINDOW CLEANER!!!!!!

there, i said it, and what!?
Spot on.

Theres truth in that tbh, i used to work with a guy in a glass factory and he could use a glass cutting machine but every time he had to cut a bit by hand it was terrible.

Look guys I was quote "trad" for 2-3years before moving to pole.

We all have different opinions, if we didn`t move on from traditions we`d still be living in caves or worse still dragging our knuckles and hiding up trees from predators!!!

I use to think doing ground floor windows with the wfp was lazy and used to trad them now I dont bother and just wfp the lot most customers wouldn't care whether I cleaned with shammy leather or pole as there clean and you get paid. I thought this was a thread about what is trad, I think most of us understand that trad is not using wfp. Think most window cleaning companies and joe public think requirements of a window cleaner is to be able to squeegee and applicator.

I was taught by a geezer who started window cleaning in the seventies.

He started on a bike and by 1997 had 12 vans on road and turning over a few mill.he hated it when wfp came along but had to get one.

If he took on a newbie who just wanted to reach and wash and not blade you wouldn't last.

What I'm saying is it's imperative you learn to use the blade as as much as wfp will be round for ever and so will the blade and you don't ever want to get caught out one day coz you never know when blade will be needed.

May the blade be with you obe one.

Ady your off topic again. I never said I couldn`t use a squeegee. I asked what ppl think is trad! and in answer to another off topic question you asked some times inside a very full window display it is not possible to use squeegee. so the easy shine is a good option.lets close this thread and get on with cleaning some windows hey? /emoticons/smile.png

The high standards that we have set in Torfaen and South Wales since 2003 has been often imitated by others but we know with our continued dedication from everyone involved in the business we set standards that others can only follow.
