Undercut

If I go to a quote and it's one of those "the last cleaner just stopped coming" I always ask what he charged. In my experience a cleaner doesn't stop coming for no reason & often it turns out to be no surprise why he stopped coming- the price! as in underpriced. Something I think we are all guilty of at some point, underpricing. I then make a point of why he probably stopped coming & proceed to quote as I would have anyway- without any knowledge of a previous price.

I never ask

I quote and you either like it or don't

Hi everyone... I am new around her.

Most average size houses I do (in Australia) are around $180 (100 pounds) for the windows inside and out. Many people also have their window tracks cleaned as well, which is another $100 (55 pounds).

Average size cleans with tracks take me around 3 to 4 hours to complete, so I can get 2 done in a day.

Occasionally I get asked to do outside only, which is $90 (50 pounds), and takes around an hour including cleaning of the flyscreens.

But the system here in Australia seems to be vastly different to what it seems to be over there. Many people only get their windows done either when they are moving out, or when they can barely see out of them.

Even my regulars only call me one or twice a year maximum.

Hi & welcome to the forum @Crimson and Clover

I guess ppl over their don't mind filthy windows then. It seems Canada and the USA domestic customers have the same mindset too.

Yes, clean windows are not a priority for most people...

as i already said, for most people having windows professionally cleaned is only done for necessity (on vacating a home), or as a luxury prior to Christmas.

I live in a town with a population of around 100, 000. But there are only a few window cleaners for the whole area. Lots of work in the hot season (September to December), and very little work in winter (May to August). Very few businesses here can survive doing windows only.

What do you do in quite periods?
