Dunno mate, one I had, had a sold sign up for at least two months after I had started cleaning, and they were already fully moved in.

Yeah, I wait until it has a sold STC sign on rightmove then list the date and I will flyer some time after that and I reckon I can tell by the curtains etc somthing will be different lol - nothing like stalking is there lol. If you keep banigng flyers in ten you have a chance. If I think they have moved in I will door knock.

I am finding it hard getting customers, is it time of year and just before xmas? Shall i keep door knocking? I worry that I have door knocked them at the wrong time and if knock in march they will say yes? DO you go back to a road months later?

Bit of advice on door knocking please form anyone? I knocking bungalows today and got nothing! 45 done and nout, a lot had windy already, spread over three roads. and a road about a miles away.

I jus feel at present I am fighting a war I can not win. I am going to knock every door here still in hope I get ones that have not been picked up, I have time in the day so will use every minute. I also have looked online and found on google quiet areas where not many windys are on the google map so have targeted them towns little further away, picked up 4 custys, so am going to flyer it and door knock it all.

Did you guys find it hard at the start when building your rounds. Do you still door knock now? I feel my delivery was polite and i was smart casual, give it ago tomorrow and see what happens then.

Yeah, all I can do, just feel likes a day of NO tomorrow again. Hoe much can you take. I bet its the guy whom does the 4 beds for £6 and does awful job too. Can not compete with it. We sneaky rang another cleaner and got a quote on phone said 10 windows and 2 doors, £7, I can not compete with these prices. I dont want to call any more up, too upsetting lol.

I suppose if i knock 500 houses I should get 10 custys, thats what I hope! I will work day and night then to build it up if i could get that ratio. Jst worry about the time of year, one chap i speak to said leave it, but on here everyone says keep going door knocking any day all year.

the first 100 are always the hardest, but if it was easy itd be no challenge . who wants an easy life? nobody .

think about it,if you average only 1 new customer a day that is still 385 by the years end isnt it , then youv got a REAL challenge,cleaning that lot every month you will wish you werent born

How have you got nothing?

What are you saying to the customer? what are you wearing? I absolutely refuse to accept that you cant get at least 1 customer in whatever part of the country you are at.

Worst days you get £5-£10 worth of work, best days (for me) £150 in an hour. but that was good timing, whole street.

Answer my questions. And stop flyering. Waste IMO.

H mate, I went down a few roads, all bungalows then a road of houses. about 50-60 I would say, half said they have a cleaner and others said no dont want one or my husband does it. Others just said no thanks. some were not in and left a flyer and noted house number down.

I was wearing smart jeans, new white smart trainers, hai cut short and smart, grey jumper form next, smart and black jacket duck and cover smart jacket cost me £150 quid lol. I am fine when talking I used to deal with people on customer service, but I lsoe the fake script speah and am more friendly and i say, "Hi, I am a local window cleaner and I am cleanign some of your neighbours windows and wondered if you required a window cleaner". they say no, I say thank you for your time an sorry to disturb you.BYE.

We had a pushy windy at my house other day, was bland and forward and I am far better than that and appear friendly and normal, he was 100% scripted and awful ridged approach with no personality.

It maybe the are is all stiched up, what else can you do if they say they have one, well over half did. it was where I havea customer so I thought I am goign to ask all incase while I am here.

I'm still to knock a single door, got 3 new today while just out cleaning lol.

And my tick flyers are averaging about 2 per 100.

I think some people know there areas well and others do not, I am home now after knocking 80 doors and nothing again, out of them 60 said they had a cleaner already, No feeking chance round my way. I do not claim to be the best windy out there but **** me, some of them windows were ****. I am amazed how hard it is, but tomorrow I am out at 10 and not stopping until dark, I feel people do not like door knocker sin the dark. To those people building up a round on flyers and fb alone, WELL DONE! as I and many others here i speak to in private and pass on tips have nothign back on flyers. Everyone is right flyers are ****. I have to differing types out there now and none are working. I really think it does come down to satuation of area.

I am spending tonight until late working on ideas, I have compiled a list of recently sold houses within the last month and two months and I am goign to door knock each one on my travels around tomorrow, lests see how that works, I have 23 to knock, unless a windy has picked em all up then fair play he is off the blocks their on the new houses. I am also looking on google plus and some towns near me are litered with windys, but a few towns do not have mnay listed, so the thinking is go to the less populated, the chances are greater of course but we will see. I have hit FB in that area and got two cleans, so going to door knock it all now when attend Friday. Will let you no how it goes.

Good luck to all the other newbies, I am going to compile a list of methods tried and the rewards it gives and hope it helps others. I think FB is the leader at present as I am getting more booking via this medium.

I also think some people might over egg there returns on flyers unless they have an area that is not covered by windys, as if so I would have flyered 15k by now and got my round full up if you have a ratio to a few customers to 100 flyers.

Just got to keep going, hence I come back on here as get support form the horses mouths whom have gone through it and now are what we dream of becoming. All the best!

No, I dont, I think thats a waste of time and a bit intrusive too them, I dont like door knocking much but I doing it and not stopping now, i dont want to start annoying them and also treading on other windys patches. They say no, i take it as no, they have a windy, I have flyered the house week before, so they have my details or in the bin. lol - I will be round to flyer in a few months again anyway /emoticons/smile.png

I also say now, I window clean in the area and blah blah, would you like to try the service? SO if they are unhappy, they have the choice to say yes please I will try and get out of there current one. I dont no, I feel the door knocking is enough with them already flyered week before.

I always leave a card whenever I speak to anyone about work, I even give them to mums when I take the kids to parties as a way of giving them my telephone number to ring me if I need to pick them up early /emoticons/tongue.png

Lol - I probably get a slap I am round here for that lol. Yes once I start doing all my custys houses I will be handing them cards and once completed there first clean the ones form FB I will ask them to hit there friends lists.

I dont have a script as such, but I try to keep it as brief as possible. I just try to come across friendly and not scripted, I change the way I delivery it alot too lol - Not over keen on it all but gotta do it, tomorrow I am out from 10-4 with a lunch break. dont no how many homes I can do in that time, but a fair few. I will let you no how it goes.

the trouble with bungalows is.....the owner can do em.....so yep ..hit houses..

not to say i dont have bungalows....been on one today...got one tomorrow ....but its going up a ladder that people dont like.../emoticons/biggrin.png
