What do you drive?

I am looking for a van next monthI have 3 grand stashed away but doubt I'll get a good un for that
When the Audi goes I'm replacing it with a transit around 2005 or newer then you get more reliable injectors and fuel pump as well as remote central locking and elect windows and a heated screen on all but the base models plus you can save £500 for any maintenance it's gonna need over the next few years

Ford transit custom for work and Ford Fiesta tdci the misses motor which I drive sometimes lol

What year is your transit mate?

My dad has a fusion with the TDCI engine is brilliant on fuel

Vivaro, traffic and primastar are all the same vans. My radio I had in my primastar said Renault on it. Lol. My next can will defo be a newer version of one of these 3.

the ford uses less fuel tench and it will hold its value better long term as well as havng better build quality.

body shells are identical, the wiring looms and engines and interiors are different. They do shave some common parts though just for cost savings.

Kangoo. It makes me swear in French.

Like a baked bean to drive but cheap to run.

I am a ford nut so am biased

Trannys will never let you down

The 1 thing i would say though if the clutch ever goes it is worth paying 200 quid for a conversion kit from the new dual mass clutch which will only last 40k ish miles to the old style which will give you more than double

They say ford make more from spares and parts than vehicle sales..i wonder why

one thing i hurd about the transit custon was some one of face book showed a pic of there van an it was rusting badly round the windscreen an ford would not cover it in the warnty not good, on the car an van forums they dont call them ford any more they call them fraud lol the trouble with ford they r now joined with peugeot the new connects have the dreeded 1.6hdi in labled as a ford engine but its a french engine but the older transits r very well made the 2.0 was very good in all 3 power bands the old bannah engine was bullet prouf an if u did snap a belt an kill the engine u could get a second hand one for £50 lol there geting a bit fin on the ground now tho i dont no mch about the trasit 2.2 tho thats in the custon

You can't beat the old school 2.5l diesel tranny

120 mph easy and a bloody good workhorse

yep them 2.5 bannah's were the best so cheep to fix **** on fuel but never went rong deisels r to complacated these days dpf, dmf, common rail, egr, load of bull if u ask me deisel was ment to b hard as nails not any more every is twiked to the point of bing the fragile:mad:

Ford have used the pug derived engine since 2002!! The 1.4hdi

and the 1.6hdi

It's also found in the bmw mini, Volvo and citroens. Mazda also use it but there owned by ford
