How may channels do you have? (not talking tv smurf)

P

Pickingpaul

Here are my channels i use, mostly unger, a few ettore, pulex, ive also got some wagtails knocking about.

Theres a fair few there and obviously i cant carry all those at once but i often carry 4 on domestics, throughout a day on varrying houses i really do use them all alot and worth having.

Most of them are dogeared in a wagga style, unger, pulex.

The one furthest to the right was the first one i ever dogeared about a year ago, that is a pulex. The second from the right is where ive split the channel too far as an experiment which i dont recomend. The rest are all about right and i get very little deatiling when using these.

This is my ettore which has been dogeared the way polz n bladz does his, its my favorite as its not prone to damage when dropped, the wagga style split channels are great too but will bend out of position easily when dropped, u can of course bend them back but eventually they will break if u are unlucky, also i spend a lot of time filing and sand papering these so they are not sharp anywhere, but its very hard on the wagga style and they end up "biting" scratching u fairly regular, whereas the polzn bladz one doesnt have "teeth" and is more hand frieldly.

I've still got a black & white tv that's got 3 button on 1 2 3 /emoticons/biggrin.png

I am the same..have lots of channels which i seem to collect

Any that are no good anymore tend to get chopped and played around with until they do and then never used again

It means i buy rubber in long pieces for the odd sizes

Been using the same 4 lately so the others just sit in the shed

My daily setup consists of 5.5" 2x10" (1 30° and 1 0° swiveloc ) and a 14"

Interesting u have x2 10" dave, with different handles.

Ive probably had a different set up every month for the past year, it will be different in a few weeks im sure.

I find the 6" is best as the smallest, i have a 4.5" which rarely will feel any benefit from instead of a 6". Whereas a 6" is a gd all rounded for top openers and window sills

I have 2 10s both on swiveloc handles

30° is for normal 0° goes on my pole over bushes / above connys etc

The 10 seems the best size for 0° as i can fan openers etc with it on the pole

Oh, that sound good mate, never thought of using those swiveloc handles for that, do u use pole for all upstairs of just above coony roof type windows?

This is how I use it but on a 20ft pole above connys

Also with a bit more style

use ladder to get high enough

i did dogear one wagtail but found no real improvement . i also swapped an unger ergo with a lad who had a dogeared wagtail he couldnt get along with . it was the latest model [handle over channel] i didnt get along with it either and now its in van unused

wagtails are the only squeegee me and my crew use . id think theres about 10 hanging up in the van ,of different sizes

Do you make them use wags or could they use their own gear? ?

Just asking as i have never used a wag but am quick with my gear

about 3 yrs ago i took on a man who didnt like the wagtail idea and wanted to use a fixed handle like he had used at a previous firm . he had been using a pointer ladder for downstairs work with Hightop window cleaners who are a fairly big firm locally

. but downstairs is all done with a pole by me & i dont allow ladders for downstairs work as its risky . he got a bit shirty as hed been a windie a long time didnt want to change ,wanted to use his own gear too

and so i let him use a beer crate to stand on as a compromise . ten minutes later he fell over on his back like a beetle right in front of me

these days its my way or the highway and the squeegee you are given on your first day is the one you have to use

:pWell i am not working for you then boar

No problem with a pole but my squeegees or no squeegees

Just ordered another 18" as mine is a bit knackered. .ergotec handle and stainless channel

Always battering my big channels..end up throwing stuff on them in the motor and bending them
