Minimum charge.

That sounds perfect dave. Ive been a bit behind with pricing up until a year ago, ive made a real effort this year to build up my round with well priced jobs and i increased almost all more exsisting customers by £1, makes a big difference, u start to actually want to go out and clean them as the hourly rate is very good
Round here the average 3 beds were around 7-7.50 8 years ago when i was subbing

No way could i quote one of those less than a tenner 8 years on..not even 50p a year increase

I have dream houses too paul

The one with the nice old dear 2 weekly which i open the patio doors and do the inside of them while i am there without ever mentioning it..just open them while she is in the front room and do them last and then she pays me

The good jobs you don't mind going the extra mile

Mind you i can't stand the canyoujusters

How could he afford to pay a lad??5p a pane??
im not sure . my guess is the lad was being paid a pittance .

the guy was WFP +ladders and one of those types who shouts, whistles and sings as he works so that everybody sees him-but cant stand him! i felt sorry for the lad who was doing his bit but was being barked at .

Really? The government say that £6.50 is a fair minimum? Is this for houses? Sometimes there really are small flats eh? I think £1 per unit is great but i dont generally reach that on every house (wish i did)
But it would be good to say £6.50 absolute minimim, recomended by the gov
ROFLMFAO, No Paul, the government has no interest in how much per house you charge just what percentage they can tax you for.

My comment was referring to minimum wage rates in the UK. EG: £6.50 per hour.

i price up at a pound a minute seems to work well for me i also offer exras for that, all depending on how good the coffee is, i also let some of my regular to put the price up when they see fit to this also works well

In A squid a minute..sure you're not smurf in disguise? ?

£60 an hour is a bit steep for wwindow cleaning even for me

That sounds about right to me. Who in their right mind would want less /emoticons/biggrin.png

For me £8 is the minimum, but that is for small bungalows and ground floor flats, otherwise prices start at £10.

hmmm, it would be great if I could just remember I have a minimum charge of a tenner I keep forgetting...

I mean some of the jobs I get coming in...I just wont even get out of the car...it they ring back then I will tell them because of where they are etc its got to be a tenner I didnt get out of the car as I couldnt see anywhere with in reasonable distance to even park.

but I have just been ages on text talking to one new priced at £6

I have finished that area and can not go miles out of my way for that...tis so tiny...two up at front but one only small frosted..

nowt on back...and on a brand new estate,,,,so I may pick up more.and I am just too busy at the mo so i booked it in as a warm up next friday...and its a total loss as its so far away but then again...I could fit lucy in so i can usually find a way to make it pay

.

you have to be careful though:D

You can never have too much work dave

Get your ass off the sofa and clean some glass . lol

You may even remember how to do it

started out at £10 minimum, got an average of £12 so far, theres lots doing it for less up here but i wont be one of them no chance, it will take longer but im not quitting my day job and investing time and money into a venture to just get by and pay the bills.

hey my day was great for once...

I'm currently caught in limbo at the moment as I'm waiting to see if my council license application will be successful (this can take up to 28 days )

I've got flyers designed ready for printing as soon as I get the green light. Anyway, my wife's sister was round yesterday doing her nails and we got talking about businesses etc. She said I can come and clean her windows once up and running.

I asked what she thought a fair price would be just out of interest. I will have a minimum of £10 charge per house. She thinks for a few seconds and comes out with £25 :specs

She's not minted by any means and only stays in a terraced 2 bedroom house with a big bay kitchen window and upstairs bedroom window at the front, and a large bay sitting room window, upstairs bedroom & bathroom window at the back. Obviously I said £20-£25 was my ball park figure :rofl:

Obviously this got me thinking that £10 minimum per house might be too cheap. Might up it to £15 so I can fall back to £10 if needed.

especially when the fifteen pound note arrives...my maths isnt very good so I need more rounded numbers../emoticons/biggrin.png

thats possible a good technique I hadnt thought about throwing the ball into their court so to speak and seeing what sort of price they think is okay...

its defo not a smurf technique.../emoticons/biggrin.png

yep whole house and I do sometimes wonder at my generosity...I am er...knocking on a bit now....sorta entering smurf territory and the muscles aint what they used to be....just wondering about that...but then again...it does depend on the milf factor.../emoticons/biggrin.png

yeh suddenly fifteen looks appealing...specially with the new fifteen pound note coming out ...or was that a dream....

I understand the reasoning for minimum pricing but a tenner is a bit stiff, it's not really giving a service is it? I've got terraced houses, two on the front, four on the back, they take me twelve minutes each to do, and I charge £6. I am putting them up in April by 50p, and I think that's more than fair. My lowest price is £6, and I would consider that a fair minimum.

One thing I did recently when one of my customers had me back, after not doing them for six months because he was putting on an extension, and now wanted two quotes; one for all round, and one for the tops only (which I didn't want to do), was this. The before price was £14, so I told him first off that they would've gone up this year to £15 anyway and to bear that in mind. There are 8 upper windows, so I said that it was not worth having the tops only done as it will work out expensive, saying it would probably be around twelve pounds, and that I would 'only' charge a couple of quid for the extra two or three (downstairs) windows, which would make it £17. well he thought for a minute and said if you can do them very other time (10 weeks), I'll give you £20, which I accepted. I was very pleased with that.
