Customer texed and said she wanted to cancel.

So I replied saying OK where you happy with the service.

She replied and said. She wanted a thorough clean and found a cheaper window cleaner.

Two things. First she was a terrible payer and even thought it was £7 a clean she owed me £40 ish.

Second i think another windy has knocked and blagged that wfp is not as good as trad and then said he would do it cheaper. Bad form. Me thinks...

I clean about 7 in a row so will keep a eye on the windows.

Customers are unpredictable eh?

Just have to shake that bad one off, as u said she was a bad payer so u are better off without and get some other better customers. When the new window cleaner she has gets annoyed by the bad paying and quits on her she will want you back, but what will you say?

Make sure you get the 40 quid off her

Send her a letter saying you will charge interest daily until it is paid

£7 a clean and she owes £40, I would have already binned her.
I only ever do 3 cleans without being paid and if they keep me waiting for my money I cancelled them

How do you manage that m8 ? I always have 40-50 people roll over till next month but they always pay

Make sure you get what you're due. Three cleans without payment and they're dumped. Fortunately for me that's very rare.

I'm thinking of dumping for 2 cancellations on the bounce instead of 3. One of mine has gone on step 1 of the naughty step this week. She lives next door to hag woman I was talking about on here. I texted her to leave gate unlocked and she replies a few hours later 'please leave his time.' Hmm, has hag woman been onto her I wondered? I text her back saying "I hope next door hasn't told you I scratched her sill, as this isn't true." She replies 'no, just can't do tomorrow.' All I was asking was for her to leave the gate unlocked. And she's about because I've seen her car on and off the drive. If she cancels next month, she's gone!

All my custys know how i work

If they are not in to pay me they leave money out or pay by paypal

If they haven't payed within a couple of weeks they get a message pointing out their payment is still due before their windows are due again

Some do forget but they pay on the day of the next clean or beforehand by paypal

I don't think it is too much to ask

As someone else once said on here you don't go to a garage and say fix my car and then keep popping round my house to see if you can catch me in to pay you

i only do 1 and not get paid. iv gone to do second clean and i check if there not in to see if they have left money if they havent dont bother running the hose out and if there in remind em before i start they owe a month.

I've also a big property I do that's £60 a fortnight she pays cash and longest I've not seen her is 5 cleans but I wasn't worried as millionaires don't tend to do midnight flips like rented properties

Seems a lot of hassle chasing people for money,I'm quite happy people paying 2/3 cleans as we all have busy lives ,I'm never home when my gardener calls he messages me when it's about 6/7 visits I owe

It's a standard message so no hassle

Why wait to get paid when it is your wages

You wouldn't wait in any other job

Right see what you meen m8, think it's to late to start that with my old customers but it's a good idea and i may give it a try from now with new customers

if i clean this month and you not payed by next clean i get rid of the job i cant stand time wasters

I only do 1 clean without getting paid
I'm with you @daveyboy1 , I never let them owe two. My father would let it mount and then you get 'I don't owe you for four cleans mate, I dropped it through your door'

If payment is outstanding after two weeks I ring them for a chat. /emoticons/biggrin.png

The more they owe the harder it is for some to catch up. I think you know the ones you trust and the ones you don't lol...I judge everyone as a individual some I will only clean once and not a second time till they have paid and some I keep cleaning because I know they will pay
