Heading over to the darkside

WCF

Help Support WCF:

Give yourself to the Dark Side. It is the only way you can save your scrim. Yes; your thoughts betray you. Your feelings for them are strong. Especially for your… microfibre. So, you have a twin setup. Your feelings have now betrayed it too. Obi-Wan was wise to hide it from me. Now, his failure is complete. If you will not turn to the Dark Side… then perhaps at least wfp the tops…

Well it's something like that as i remember /emoticons/wink.png

Haha classic you have watched too much window wars

When I went wfp, I couldn't believe how much faster and easier it was, so my guess is, once you start you'll end up doing Nearly all your work wfp..

I still trad, but it's slowly getting less and less, it starts to become a horrible thought to get the ladders off and start tradding a house... Something I never thought would happen!

When i eventually do it i will always still trad the bottoms

I enjoy it and that is what counts when you do it all day

Same as polzn bladz. .he has wfp and could easily splash and dash the lot but only does the tops as like trad so much

I know some wfp guys who admit that sometimes i could trad a window quicker than they could wfp it..suppose it depends on the situation but i would be happy to hang up my ladders

tbh there isnt a lot in it daveboy dont forget I switch between the two and so get to see if there is much difference in time and its very hard to see much.

but on big commercial jobs where you fly from window to window...yep its fast.

the trouble is once Im off I find it hard to not get carried away even wfp ed the electric box on a house today you just cant stop..

of course...one type of glass does help:rolleyes:

and just a sec....dont forget...using pure does mean...you have to make more...and so...Im still bloomin working ..two barrels to go....well its not that hard but it does have to enter the calculation...

I do that as well, end up cleaning bits and bobs as you go, like electric boxes, downpipes, doors without any glass in them etc etc.

I would say bottoms are probably pretty similar time wise if you're good at trad, depending on the window type, but upstairs there is no comparison at all, wfp wins out easy time wise, also getting the ladder off the van etc is no longer needed.

I found that it's easier to wfp the whole house, you'll soon get bored of having to carry trad gear/scrim for the bottoms, it's much faster to do the whole house wfp, it sounds like a good idea, but in reality, you'll just end up thinking 'bog it, I'll just wfp the whole lot'

yep my ladder stayed on at a house today..

and I couldnt possibly do the jobs I did today....three storey georgian covered in spiders..

one hasnt been cleaned for six months as I had to wait to get the job...I was really scared of running out of water...but made it just enough..

I couldnt trad that anymore...I had to trad the ones behind the bars and it took forever..

and as for leadeds...

forgot just how hard gutter cleaning was...

I just said a pound a metre as it was only the white gutter no facia..

bloomin hard work though the windows seemed a doddle afterwards..

mind you the hail storm or whatever it was didnt help..it was bloomin heavy storm../emoticons/biggrin.png

its getting boring working in the rain now...

If all I did was window cleaning, I'd go WFP in a heartbeat just for the profit. But it just doesn't make sense right now. I think the WFP is something people should build up to though. Bit embarassing being a windy that can't trad -bit like being a chef that can't cook an omellette. And all these people buying 10 grands worth of WFP setup without any customers make me chuckle. Eventually if I ever do get into it, the second hand market should be flooded with them.

If i couldn't trad at all Jake i would give up

26 years I've had a squeegee in my hand and it is part of what i am

I see wfp as a tool to help me do my job but applicator and squeegees is what i (sadly) obsess about and always improving my mods and techniques

I can see why some get the wfp bug and good luck to them but i have the trad bug

some of us just can't help it..like polz, wagga etc who still trad bottoms even now

I do that as well, end up cleaning bits and bobs as you go, like electric boxes, downpipes, doors without any glass in them etc etc.

TolishAPurd mi e was second hand trolley system and it looks virtually brand new . I don't have massive amount of work but some of the houses I do are going to be a doddle no having to move ladders multiple times

Don't forget i have used my mates wfp and know how to use it..just no experience of makking pure etc

oh dont worry tolish ya will get dragged in soon...

looking at the georgians afterwards as I wipe the sills and frames down...I dont do that with my brush to save water...

its a kind of a windowcleaning orgasmic feeling looking at that shine...

now dont get me wrong....it can go wrong...in fact ..it can go very very wrong:eek:

so cheapie always uses the windies best equipment of all...:specs:specs:specs

dont worry daveyboy once set up the pure just keeps a comin...simples..
