Hey everyone, I have a good window cleaning business, and I have fought to get it so, after having many people let me down with the work, I made my son my business partner, he does the physical stuff I do account paperwork and help with the cleaning as required, my son has decided it's no longer for him! Can anyone tell me how it works when another window cleaning company say they can come and do the work for me? I don't have much time to sort it out and don't want to let my customers down, I have just over350.

Sounds like you're getting mugged off.

I would personally ask son to bear with you whist you find a suitable employee. If you alreadt run the books side then all you'd be doing is replacing a business partner with an employee and you'd be doing the same work yourself.

You'd be quids in.

sounds like real trouble!!

I've advertised the job, so fingers crossed, my son has a new job to start beginning of December so time is of the essence! I wish I could do it myself but I'm honest and it needs a mans physical fitness for some if it! Thanks for the advice, you might be able to tell me, how do you work out a bonus for new customers he gets?

set a target of x amount of jobs per month or even year then think about how much of a bonus try and put ur self in ur inployes shews look at it that way

For new customers I would pay 1 x the first clean AFTER the second clean.

So say he lands a £20 customer he gets the £20 bonus but only after he cleans it a second time so you arent losing money on the deal.

Also I would make bonuses etc only come into effect after say a 3 month probation period just to ensure your chap is on the level.

Your comments also make me realise you're female, I apologise, automatic assumption in this game. We have a some femal members, @Beccy for one @shazzy692002 another. Both of whom are active on the working front. Also my wife works larger jobs with me when I need a hand so there is not much if any thing us lads can do that you cant if you wanted to.

One of the most sucessfull windies I ever met is a Polish lady in London and she does it all traditional.

Food for thought

Does you son not have a friend in need of work?

What about your frieds sons / partners.?

Once word is out you'd be amazed at who you know that's looking for work.

Question that has me curious is how did you end up with a window cleaning round to begin with?
